“Last Dance At The Vampire Ball: West Searches For Answers To Its Demise”

by Simplicius in Simplicius’ Garden Of Knowledge on Substack @substack

“As the reality of the coming Russian victory over the combined NATO Leviathan has slowly dawned on the West, it has engendered a poignant shift in the increasingly high-pitched narrative. The comprador elite class has awakened to the fact that their global order is on the brink of dissolution, following Russia’s unclothing of their designs. The many decades of Gladio and other subversions are coming undone before our very eyes, as the dreams of a certain line of elite architects stretching back many generations are being washed away by the fitful birth of a new world.

Everywhere you turn, this elite moral panic is playing out front and center. As their industries die, their people gnash and seethe, and institutions flirt with collapse, the hoarse-voiced compradors clamber over each other to bleat out litanies of frantic warnings about saving themselves and their class”

Cavalier South vs Puritan North? Hypocrisy and Identity in the American Civil War

This article highlights the ways Southern ministers claimed the puritan identity for the South and accused the North of hypocrisy, for having fallen far from the theological ideals of their puritan forebears. Furthermore, Southern ministers noted the hypocrisy of Northern puritans for having escaped religious tyranny only to impose it upon those who did not conform to their form of Christianity; they had thus fallen into the very sin which they had decried.

The fact that “alternative transportation” just means you’re not in a car tells you everything that’s wrong with our transportation system.

DaPickle ,
@DaPickle@mastodon.sdf.org avatar

@davidho
YES because transportation = cars = money, whereas feet < nothing….at least according to most midwestern engineers.

I gave a continuing ed presentation to civil engineers several years ago at “Road School” where proposed that cars weren’t people. I discussed multimodal transportation design principles with an emphasis on moving people not just cars.

I was heckled and told by the group that was ridiculous and there wasn’t enough money for that.

Conditional Enfranchisement: How Partisanship Determines Support for Noncitizen Voting Rights

Our findings suggest that U.S. voters are pragmatic about extending the local franchise to noncitizens. Although U.S. voters are, on average, indifferent toward local noncitizen suffrage, they oppose enfranchisement when noncitizens would vote for the opposing party.

    🇺🇸 How Christianity’s Decline Impacts White Christians’ Emotional and Attitudinal Response

    “Racial resentment predicts Christian nationalism, Christian persecution beliefs, and White persecution beliefs. In other words, negative stereotypes about Black Americans are related to Christian nationalism and persecution beliefs. But while Whiteness and Christianity are undeniably intertwined among Whites, our experiment provides evidence that they cannot be conflated.”
