Trump's a lying coward. He didn't break the today that I know of. He made a point of avoiding it, in fact... so far.

If he were really willing to be a martyr, he would have made sure he was in jail by now by bashing the jury. He's doing this to rile up his base, but he does NOT want to be in jail.

    If he's convicted it will be "He'll never go to prison." If he goes to prison it will be "He'll be paroled in a week." If he spends a year locked up they'll say, "it was only a slap on the wrist."

    @GottaLaff In the past I've heard that Trump dictates his tweets because he can't use a phone with his tiny hands. So probably can't blame him for accidental misspellings.

    OTOH, I'm not convinced any of this is accidental - Trump gets a lot more attention from the left for acting the fool while it doesn't hurt him at all on the right, so instead of "Trump is losing it" I'm inclined to think "Trump is getting the attention he wants."

    's separate pres immunity motion hinges on this PRA argument. It's the "official act" underlying the immunity assertion. If thinks it's a close call, that means a stay is likely coming.

    When we eventually get to Trump's pres immunity assertion, even if Cannon denies it, she will stay the case unless she finds that the assertion is "frivolous." So today will be the early tell as to how she's leaning on this question.

    As an old guy who grew up with records (oh, sorry, "vinyl") it's odd to see people who got into them after their heyday and never met a record changer.

    BTW, records set up this way are called "changer sequenced." They're kind of annoying now, because you have to go through more bother to play things in sequence (I don't), but occasionally they improve an album (Rolling Stones More Hot Rocks is better as one early-60s and one mid-60s double album).

    @FediPact So if a mastodon instance was set up that had nothing to do with Facebook but was just another instance that had been up for a while and had some bad accounts but wasn't a pure Nazi-style instance, would it be universally blocked immediately? Would some instances block and some not? Would there be requests to improve their moderation with the threat of blocking? I have no idea how instance owners generally handle this.

    @icastico @vinylrecords Yeah, I couldn't get into If... either, although I know both are considered cinema classics. I don't think I ever saw the third one. I haven't generally liked too many Lindsey Anderson movies - the only one I can think of is Whales of August.
