Firefox respects your criteria for inclusion, and still you didn't include it.

At what age do you think is too old to be living with parents?

Background+rant: I'm in my early to mid-20s and still living at home with my dad. I'm not a NEET and am employed at a normal office job. I enjoy the comfort of my home. I like being with family (and I believe they feel blessed to have their kid at home longer). I like not having to pay rent. However, I also keep feeling some...

If you can bear your parents, don't move out. Would you bet that half of your coworkers live with their parents?

"Moving out" in an idealised event that just does not make sense anymore today.

It still comes down to if your company is made of people or lizards.

Recruiters can take your answer as "this person has sick elderly relatives, who are surely not going to get any better during his employment".

I never really understood why his stuff was considered art

Someone will be saying this looking at internet memes in a museum in 50 years, while everyone else will be acclaiming a portray of loss.

I like this statement.

In the end every instinct to share something with others is egothistical, since we believe what we find great or interesting must be for everyone else too. Even writing this comment I am convinced that it's worth enough for you to read.

kilgore_trout ,
@kilgore_trout@feddit.it avatar

Indeed. I wish your comment was the most visible here.

Signal and Threema can be all about privacy, but they are still companies which can make money only by keeping their service as centralized as possible.

Decentralised messaging like Matrix, XMPP, Jami, have no issue with interoperability.

You are right.

All the main airports are reached by train. Spain has relatively cheap high-speed railway network.

kilgore_trout ,
@kilgore_trout@feddit.it avatar

Delay is most of the time due to congestion. Expanding the network is the way to reduce that.

I don't know what are you doing with your phones. I have never witnessed someone wearing out a USB Type-C port.

Anyway, if you want to be upset at someone, the implementators of USB standards are: Apple, HP, Intel, Microsoft, Renesas Electronics, STMicroelectronics, Texas Instruments.

Because the United States are the only country in the world.

In Italy it is illegal to share recordings in public without the recorded people's consent.

"Cops" are public servants, as such it is always allowed to record and share.

History shows that protests worked either when the vast majority of the population striked, or when they were violent.

I am quite disillusioned that gathering in a single square for a few hours with some signs will ever change anything.

Without reading the article, I believe the reason is that China and North Korea function as middle men of Russia's supply, rendering the bans on direct commerce between the European Union and Russia ineffective.

kilgore_trout ,
@kilgore_trout@feddit.it avatar

That is not true. I have had Chinese friends tell me that for example you cannot fly on a plane if your social score is too low.

The European Court of Human Rights is not related to the European Union. The wording on the article and the conclusions are misleading.

I use Jami daily. The pro is that it is completely decentralised: it doesn't need a server to run, all communications are over DHT. The cons is that not all messages are delivered instantly, and both sender and recipient need to be online at the same time.

kilgore_trout ,

I am not expecting security from it, just complete decentralisation.

That's a little too long for laying tracks and electrical lines.

Although even in the Italian city I take for reference, Bologna, construction of line 1 started in 2023 and is expected to finish complete in 2026. If it was a private company with no external contract awarding, it sure wouldn't take this long.

No country in the world currently allows the driver to focus attention on something else.

This is after planning and awarding. It's 3 years just for phisical construction.

why are incels frowned/hated upon?

Obviously I can understand why mysoginists are hated upon, As their belief is all women are trash or men are superior etc. But why are incels also generally hated upon? They are lacking in a way that makes them unable to gey in a relationship, but that shouldn't necessarily mean they are mysoginists, right?...

kilgore_trout ,
@kilgore_trout@feddit.it avatar

You won't find a genuine answer in these comments. Incels are hated because you can easily make up excuses to.

kilgore_trout ,
@kilgore_trout@feddit.it avatar

Their second statement is that cannot be an incel if not as "a monk under threat or something" and you consider that an exhaustive answer.

Sex is part of a human's life. To not experience intimate relationships is detrimental to mental health, independently from the social pressure.

People who declare themselves "involuntary celibate" deserve compassion, not to be frowned upon.

Imprisonments takes freedom away from you. That is the price you pay.

Still, it doesn't make you less human. It shouldn't.

Improper ≠ incorrect

kilgore_trout ,

That "previous understanding" is still correct, despite new desires to feel special.

Sexual orientation is defined up to the first two months after birth, and homosexual population in humans is around 5-10%.
