It's the egg and onions that might be an acquired taste for some. Ei met ui...we Dutch call it, and will pronounce it in a the Hague accent. "Eh meh uh."

I like matse with semi old Gouda or Edammer cheese please, because it taste kinda saltless, but with a good topping I can eat a whole pack.

The Long Dark.

Every winter I'll start a new survival mode sandbox. 600 hours of gameplay. I have games I played for longer, like Borderlands 2, but I keep playing the Long Dark, and for many winters to come.

We have a hot waterdispenser for tea, we drink tea day and night. It saves electricity over a normal watercooker and it is convenient.

Fresh mint or fennel, ginger, camille, or tea in a baggy, earl grey I like best

Refurbished Ahrend 220. I bought 2 of them for about 50 Euro a piece on our local marketplace. Best chairs for home office I ever had. Ergonomic, comfortable and sturdy.

kindenough ,
@kindenough@kbin.social avatar

Good ergonomic chairs are certified by government health and safety inspection service in our country to prevent ilness and injuries to workers and come with certifications like NPR 1813 and NEN 1335. My ergonomic chairs are fully adjustable to NEN 1335 specifications. I would not buy any office chair without these certifications.

Dutch Stamppot.

Patato mashed together with fried onions and bacon and any vegetable you like. Raw spinach, raw endive, raw cornsalad, kale is cooked with the patato, sauerkraut (maybe kimchi?), or carrot+onions.Mash it all up with a bit of cream or milk, serve with brown or butter gravy and smoked sausage (rookworst), or pork belly, or pork chop. We Dutch mostly eat it in wintertime. It's quickly made and filling.

Not if you are Dutch or from that region, for a person from Korea it might.

My SO doesn't like gaming as well, but we play Bejuweled 3 together. It is not multiplayer but we take turns everytime it's game over. It's very relaxing and addictive and kills time pretty quick.

I make my own fermented hot sauces. It is so easy to make. Use them in anything from curry's, bami or nasi, omelettes, or just on the side.

kindenough ,
@kindenough@kbin.social avatar

Woops.

Basically. Bunch of peppers, put them in a clean jar, fill with water with 6 procent of salt, so 1 liter water + 60 grams of salt. You can vary from 3 to 10 procent. Make sure the peppers are under the brine, so they don't come in contact with air. Turn lid every day to let CO2 escape and close again, don't take the lid off the jar. After a week you already have a nice fermented hot sauce if the jar is in a warm place, but you can ferment way longer. I like 2 to 3 weeks. Blender or a stick blender the peppers with some of the brine. You can use the left over brine to marinate meat, make other sauces or gravies, salad dressing and so on.

I like to add onions, lots of garlic and herbs like thai basil too in the fermenting process.

Buttermilk sauces, sounds good. I am Dutch and never heard or thought of using buttermilk for a sauce. Any Canadian sauce recipe you like to share?

@kindenough@kbin.social avatar
  1. I half them, leave the stems on and seeds in.
  2. I use lombok, birds eye, madame jeanette, scotch bonnet, jalapenos, anything I can get my hands on really, all peppers are best.
  3. Fresh ones, dont use ripe, old or frozen,, ripe is a gamble, old will get mold and frozen will be sterile. You can add frozen peppers with the fresh ones but you need fresh ingredients to start lacto fermentation.
  4. lacto bacteria, it is everywhere all around you, even on your face. You do need a sterile jar and the enviromental influences kept to a minimal.

We enjoy their antics all day long on our balcony, they are adorable. Thanks for posting these beautiful pictures.

Edit: For the first time we had a long-tailed tit on the balcony today. Cute!

In the Netherlands...Every year or two a buss comes to our village where one can get tested for breast cancer.for free.

Seitan is delicious. My mother back in the 70s used to bake it with onions, garlic and tamari. It was one of my favorite things to eat, rigoreus makrobiotic diet and all.

And you are right because indeed no fucking way he is on mushrooms, but it is funny how the two put up an act.

Why do christian apologists say the name of the person they're talking to so often?

I'm sure there are other groups that do it too, but I've noticed it most often from christian apologists, probably in part case I like listening to debates/discussions with them from atheist youtubers, but I've also noticed it talking to christians myself....

kindenough ,
@kindenough@kbin.social avatar

I am an atheist and I often call my friends by their name when I app them. It's just a form of respect for their person imo. I am not the 'hey bro!’ type of guy.

My mom was the worst. Violent, loveless, cruel and egocentric. Spend my life in care homes and boarding schools just like my little sister. I still see a shrink 35 years later.

My son has a loving ma and pa. He doesn't like my singing tho...

kindenough ,
@kindenough@kbin.social avatar

He turned 18 last year and he knows this is his home as long as he likes. We always made him feel we are living together in this house, our house.

I never felt welcome at home in my childhood, my son will never ever have this feeling.

Funny thing is I had a record contract with a now defunkt label when he was born. He must have heard a lot of noise inside his mom's womb, I was just signing up when he was born, heheh.

ASUS ROG Harpe Ace. Lightweight, builtin battery, parts that can be swapped, great build quality, 2,4 ghz, BT 5.1 and wired. My son had Logitech, Corsair and Razer gaming mice and after some time had problems with double clicking or scroll wheel.

He is very content with the Asus. Only gripe is the software, but once set up, you can remove ut.

kindenough ,
@kindenough@kbin.social avatar

Why did you need it, do you have any Asus hardware requiring armory crate? The time I spent with the Asus mouse playing games was quite awesome and redeemed setting it up.

Bloatware isn't the right term, it is config software. It is just system heavy weight shite that after configuring your hardware can be rid of, unlike other brands that require their tiresome software be installed to make the hardware work.

Word. Ever since their first album dropped more then 30 years aog I have been a fan. Their music seems timeless.

We got Nene Cherry to thank, as she kicked their ass to get the first album happening apparently.

My Nest Hub 2gen is just an expensive clock now, and it isn't even working well at that.
It used to control all my home automation. Now it's a lot of "sorry, I don't understand" clock.
