Moderation across instances

Is it possible to appoint moderators from a different instance to that my magazine is hosted on?
I can add them, but if I go to a different kbin instance it shows the moderator as only the site admin. On Lemmy it shows no mods at all.

Should this be possible? Should it work across kbin/Lemmy? How does it work on Lemmy (or does it not work there either?)
