@arstechnica TIL there are people opposed to the pasteurisation of milk. I can’t imagine why anyone would possibly drink raw milk unless they’re particularly masochistic and enjoy being miserably sick.
@arstechnica
that 52% fatality rate is true, but it is also possibly a total bullshit number
why ?
Infection of humans with H5N1 is is *incredibly *amazingly RARE and UNCOMMON
so it is possible that the tiny tiny number of people who do get infected are un usual in some way - perhaps, due to bad luck, they have an immune system that can't fight this particular bug
@arstechnica Aggressively intentional stupidity is on display with these idiots. If only they could be refused medical care outside of google and homeopathy when they inevitably get violently ill. But no, they’ll go to the hospital ER and the rest of us will pay the bill.
I’m all for individual freedom. Go for it. Just be ready for the individual consequences.
@arstechnica This is how natural selection works. In the context of civilization, adaptation isn't just genetic, but also memetic. Those who make poorer choices than they could are less likely to pass on their genes.
Let them have their raw milk. We did for them what we could. It's their free choice to die stupid.
I always mix horse paste into my raw milk. They say it adds that apple flavor I’ve craved ever since losing my sense of taste from having covid 41 times
@arstechnica "According to McAfee, his customers believe, without evidence, that directly drinking high levels of the avian influenza virus will give them immunity to the deadly pathogen."
And I'm sure it probably does if you make it past the 52% fatality rate. 🤡
