What's the best distribution for a relative newbie? I have a couple of Windows 7 machines I don't use and want to try another OS again.
My level of experience - I can build a Windows machine from parts to bootup, but still can't remember how to right click on an iMac; I was a Computer Science major for a couple of years and have long forgotten knowledge of Fortran and assembler code; 20(?) years ago, I installed Mandrake and Red Hat, but within two weeks I'd make some mistake and render the install unbootable, wipe, reinstall, rinse, repeat.
