America needs to enforce the EPA laws on the books and threaten to nationalize our automakers if we want to compete with China. Tariffs often don't have the intended effect.
Well they're not really trying all that hard to be honest. I think it's because the US gov isn't holding their feet to the fire.

Also used EVs are selling in record numbers. Which tells me there's a hole in the market for a 25k EV econobox that can go 200 miles on a charge. The chevy Bolt is close, but Chevy is talking about sunsetting it, and it's the only car that's close to competing with Tesla as far as gross sales go.
