@laxla There was an experiment by the #Sharkey lead dev which tried to make migration of an instance from Mastodon to Sharkey possible. It got abandoned however.
I think this idea of migration from a whole different AP family should be revisited, but with a Pleroma instead. Pleroma already has a Mastodon FE and the whole Mastodon API implemented (with extensions to support custom emoji reactions and others), plus a very flexible moderation and filtering system (MRF). If there's an AP family best fit for migrating from Mastodon, this is probably it imo. :sagume_think:
