lettruthout OP ,

Same here come to think about it. That's weird too.

lettruthout ,

Yeah, and even that's stretching the term "conscious".

Since most of the hydrogen currently available commercially is from oil production, maybe "eco-greenwashing" would be more accurate.

lettruthout ,

This post made my ears itch. Luckily I do have Q-tips handy.

lettruthout ,

Well apparently a lot of people didn't come to hear what he said, they left during the speech...

lettruthout ,

I've only been to one that was big. It seemed like most people were still in the venue at the end, and it was slow going on way getting out.

lettruthout ,

Vermont and New Hampshire have exchanged places! Who knew?

lettruthout ,

Yes, a much improved alignment!

lettruthout ,

What's probably going to happen if that's fired?

Regulators approve sweeping change to the way most Californians are billed for electricity ( www.latimes.com )

“This will punish people who use less energy,” said Jenn Engstrom, the state director at consumer advocacy group CALPIRG. “This will encourage high consumption and it will increase bills for millions of Californians.”...

lettruthout ,

Some of those facing punishment, including 40 students at UC San Diego, were slapped with “interim suspension” notices following mass arrests at protest encampments. But many others who avoided arrest face the same penalty for reasons that are far less clear.
...

“You very rarely see these interim suspension cases,” said Sukham Sidhu, who heads of the Office of Student Advocacy at UC San Diego and has spent her undergraduate career representing peers through campus disciplinary proceedings. “The only times I’ve seen it imposed are in cases of physical assault.”

I am once again wishing Bernie was President.

lettruthout ,

Thanks for referencing and linking the Social Cost of Carbon info. That's a good way to look at this issue.

lettruthout ,

So... SCOTUS decides in Trump's favor, Biden has him assassinated, Biden wins election.

Trump is arguing that this will be OK, right? Right?

lettruthout ,

Then there's the military's 'knife bomb'...

"While other versions of the Hellfire take out targets in the expected ways — through explosive force or with shrapnel — the R9X crushes or slices a target to death. It is essentially a flying bundle of swords that can kill the occupant of a car without harming people around the vehicle."

How SOCOM's secret 'knife bomb' became the prime weapon for killing hard-to-reach terrorists

lettruthout ,

Just guessing: maybe for driving on railroad tracks.

lettruthout ,

Maybe we shouldn't fight it any more. Maybe we should just keep upping the price so much that it would no longer be economically viable for bribe lobby our politicians. Would they keep up their polluting ways if the price was $72M? How about $720M?

lettruthout ,

How about inviting some survivors from the Holocaust that Israel is currently carrying out?

lettruthout ,

'Gotta act fast if we want to continue supporting genocide.

lettruthout ,

Yes, and I think that's why we're seeing such quick and drastic measures being taken against student protesters - too many powerful people know that these protests will be effective if allowed to continue.

lettruthout ,

Yeah, some of the most effective people are those that don't know the task is "impossible". They figure out a way.

lettruthout ,

Agreed. The sense of depth (along the pads and into the water) really attract the eye. The "posing" of the Koi adds to the beauty. Well done!

lettruthout OP ,

Yeah, maybe, but not one of my projects since I'm lazy and have a gardener do "mow and blow" on the yard. Will ask him though.

Thanks for the idea.

lettruthout OP ,

Thanks!

lettruthout OP ,

Thank you for this clear explanation!

lettruthout ,

I wonder if they used a tractor to pull that trailer.

lettruthout ,

It’s a toss up: either chalkboards or dry erase boards. Both are remarkable.

lettruthout OP ,

Oh yeah, I've heard of that law. 'Sure hope they don't raise the speed limit on this street!

lettruthout OP ,

Yikes! Thanks for that lead. A search on that confirms what I‘m seeing, and explains why my Amaranth has been stunted. This is going to be a challenge to control.

Yet another example of "Every accusation is an admission."

Is it worth the solar panels I'm getting? ( lemmy.world )

I'm sorry for posting this here. There isn't a solar panel instance, nor did I see anything for electricians. I know there's been a lot of gripe with certain solar companies (solgen being in litigation, and others) but I didn't hear much about freedom forever, since they're new to Seattle area where I'm doing this. Reddit seems...

lettruthout ,

Old time solar user here. I installed a 2.4KW system myself in 2003. Initial cost $16K, reimbursed half of that. We never regretted the cost - only wish we could have installed more. Now we also want batteries.

PS: Have you already considered posting to c/SolarDIY, or searching by "solar" in the Communities page?

lettruthout ,

Yeah, but there's... SolarDIY - 345 subscribers

How Rep. Summer Lee Cruised to Victory {The Intercept] ( theintercept.com )

Summer Lee cruised to a convincing victory on Tuesday night against a well-financed opponent who had hoped Lee’s outspoken opposition to Israel’s ongoing attack on Gaza would bring the freshman congresswoman down. With most of the vote counted, Lee leads Bhavini Patel with a blowout margin. The race was a test of the...

lettruthout ,

Thanks for the post and comment. This gives me a little hope for change.

lettruthout ,

Hey! We’re not getting older! The young kids are getting younger!

lettruthout ,

Since we all now know of this creature, there better not be a naming contest for some undersea vehicle.

lettruthout ,

More power to them! These kids are doing the right thing!

'Got any better ideas for stopping the US government, and investment groups, from support a genocide?
