DuckDuckGo, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT's web search, Ecosia, and Qwant all stopped working this morning because of Bing API. 😂 And they want Microsoft Copilot deeply integrated with Windows OS. Imagine someone is unable to book emergency medical appointments because Microsoft Copilot is down or you can't withdraw money or transfer funds through netbanking because AI and screenshot services are down. This is a good example of why we must not trust someone like Microsoft for anything serious.

Forget privacy and everything else, they can’t even keep magical AI API working. Too much dependency on 3rd party is always a bad thing no matter how much positive spin you put on it.

Amused at how Altman helped himself to a woman who denied him multiple times, because he was fond of her*, and despite the fact that she was literally the only person in recent history to sue Disney and win - and that no one else in his circle tried to dissuade him (or had enough pull or made enough effort to be successful).

Says a lot about the people at the helm of the "AI revolution".

@tess Scarlett Johansson is a rich, very well connected, and famous personality. If that's how Sam Altman treats her, imagine how he'll treat common people like artists and writers, from whom he has already stolen. This man is a menace to society. He doesn’t understand meaning of words “no” or asking for consent. He is a bully and high on hype train. I really hope every artist sue him and win against this bully.

Is it just me, or has Microsoft gone completely crazy? They are implementing spyware that takes screenshots every second and forcing AI integration. Why would anyone willingly purchase this? Anyone with experience in computer or information security knows that it is a bad idea, even if it is locally done. Just don't do it. At this point, Apple should simply skip deep AI integration in iOS and macOS. Focus on third-party apps for LLM. Capture more market share while Microsoft is busy pushing spyware. Tim Cook, this WILL BE YOUR legacy, not Vision Pro. This will be useful for those who need Adobe (i know another monster) or other apps for work stuff. Otherwise, Linux on desktop will cover your needs.

I tell you, those who abuse their spouse or kids are absolutely going to love this feature, apart from bad actors. 99.9% of people don't even know this is turned on by default, and everything they do is captured and viewed by bad actors or abusers. Microsoft is not just a monopoly, but they don't like family values or privacy or safety. They are going to put innocent people's lives in danger. ABUSE is written all over this crap.

Personal and corporate nightmare for all Windows users because they are going to take screenshots and store it locally. Every one knows how bad actors get locally stored data. Now, everyone is so furious about OpenAI stealing a beloved celebrity's voice. But what about the many artists, writers/authors, and creators whose copyrighted works OpenAI stole to create works resembling and replacing those people's products? Not famous enough to generate the same outrage, right? At least now, everyone knows how bad Sam Altman is. He thinks he is above the law. I'm glad someone is standing up to this bully and I hope something good come out of it.

Events happened so far:

  1. First, Sam approached Scarlettl, and she refused to work with him.

  2. Two days before the GPT-4o launch, they contacted her agent and asked that she reconsider his offer.

  3. Despite not receiving a response from Scarlett, OpenAI proceeded with the product launch.

  4. When Scarlett's lawyers asked for an explanation of how the "Sky" voice was created, OpenAI deleted it from its product.

    I don't believe anything will happen to Sama legally. He received a considerable amount of money from Microsoft and has many powerful friends unless governments decide to control this situation. We all have to live with this madness and hope karma will catch up with him one day. It is hopeless situation. </rant>

    @WagesOf It's the same here. Sam knows nothing will happen to him because of his powerful status. This time, he was caught red-handed with proof. He underestimated Scarlett Johansson, who can afford expensive lawyers. Most artists can't even pay rent on time or afford food. This is a sad reality. He is taking jobs away from people who needed it most. I don't know how he sleep at night time ...

    Someone actually built a Chrome extension to "Hide annoying Google AI Overviews". LOL.     @nyx net.ipv6.conf.default.disable_ipv6 is used to set on any interfaces that are created after the change.

    net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6 set all interfaces, including both existing and newly created ones

    If you want to disable IPv6 completely and permanently , you must set both parameters to 1.
