Confession: I still don't know what boost does here. It must do something bad because so rare do I see on a post "boost(1)" or "boost(anyothernumber)" for that matter. Should I also avoid "boost"? Or does the interface only show when our individual boosts?

is back! (Right @jerry?)! So I (and perhaps others) will be active on /m/cybersecurity once more!

Hello, @jerry.

It seems there is some trouble with ? Yesterday, I wasn't able to use most pages of your website with 500 errors all around the place after registration. Today, it's just the contact form and microblogs. Moreover, deleting account fails with the same error. (❗) I'm just scared of what will falter next... :php:

Which works better to engage with: duplicated comment or duplicate comment?

Hey Guys. I'm trying to subscribe to an external communitu (battlemaps@lemmy.world), but i'm not sure what the syntax is for such a search. Manually inputting fedia.io/m/battlemaps@lemmy.world to the URL doesn't seem to help either. Am I missing something?

ciferecaNinjo ,

These error 500s are driving me nuts. In the past day I can no longer visit my own profile because of the . I can see my notifications, but I’ve become completely unable to continue a lemmy.world thread for which I have replies & need to reply back to.

ciferecaNinjo ,

Searching magazines for “Ada” yields every magazine about Canada; nothing about Ada. That’s a . There should be a syntax or option to specify whether it’s a regex or not.

ciferecaNinjo ,

This response to my attempt to reply is quite annoying:

You are only browsing one thread in the discussion! All comments are available on the post page.

Wherever that code is throws that rediculous error message, please remove it and just let us post. If a text box is unsuitable for a reply then please don’t give me the text box in the first place. Makes no sense.

Great ad for Work from home fans.

I’m getting random spontaneous errors when trying to upvote others. The precise error message is… (drum roll…) “Error”. Indeed, that’s it. I navigate back & upvote again, and sometimes it sticks eventually.

ciferecaNinjo ,

What’s the difference in between & ? In the microblog tab, we can only add hashtags, which is simple enough. But when starting “threads” both options are there. There’s a field for tags & we still have the option of adding hashtags. Are they both equally searchable? If yes, should we search with or without the hash (“#”)? Why don’t the tags show up after posting?

This is new. I'm getting 500 errors in my notifications now. I don't think that shows magazine icons, so it's not that. @jerry

@jerry Are you aware that has gone back to showing 500 errors more frequently (actually All is working now but Subs aren't, so maybe it's no worse than yesterday just more noticeable to me), a lot of the thumbnails appear to have broken over the last day or so too - most aren't showing at all now. I did see somebody mention that kbin.social was having thumbnail issues and @ernest was working on it - so maybe this isn't a Fedia problem per se.

After playing with reddit alternatives like Kbin (fedia) and Lemmy, I have to say I much prefer Lemmy. Kbin feels like it buries the specific communities I want to follow down in the interface and hides it. Lemmy doesn't try to mess with the reddit formula too much and feels more comfortable. The good news is following communities on either platform seems to work fine.

I bounced between beehaw and infosec.pub. Right now, I think I'll probably stay home and continue to use infosec.pub. As always, I really appreciate all the hard work @jerry puts in. It reminded me to go back and start tossing in the tip jar again.
