British Pathé's newsreel archives show us more old-timey balloon fun! This newsreel leaves out that the day's experiments ended when Sgt. Ernest Arthur Dobbs got entangled in power lines, becoming the first ever balloon jumping fatality. There are ways to make balloon jumping safe, as Parabounce tried to do earlier this century, but it still hasn't caught on. If I was harnessed into a balloon like this, I'd never want to take it off.
