Beeper did mention the DMCA protection on reverse engineering.

That being said regardles if beeper wins or looses. If apple sues and at the same time breaks beeper mini they could run into financial trouble very quickly.

If your willing to deal with self hosting, immich is a great alternative. Its facial recognition and search is practically on par with google photos.

The only downside is it doesnt’ have photo editing, and its under active developmeant (it gets weekly updates and you occasionally need to modify docker config though they do give a warning in ui).

I’m not sure if your located in US, but an issue here is there a lot of people using iphones and a lot of them tend stick to the default messaging app and sometimes can rarley use 3rdparty messaging apps.

For android users the gripe can be since people socially to use thirdparty messangers (its like trying to convince people to use signal over whatsapp). As a result sometimes a good portion of your chats can be stuck in sms.

Group chats are a bit more of a pain since say all your friends are iphone users (and say they already have existing group chats) adding a android user will either not be possible or kick everyones chats back to sms. The biggest problem with the latter is carriers have different limits on number of participants for sms chats.

The main culprit was in the rest of the world sms is very expensive meaning people early on where forced and got used to third party apps. In US by contrast sms is usually free/unlimited. As such people initially didn’t bother using thirdparty apps and when apple rolled out imessage the default sms app kinda became a pseudo standard (like whatsapp).

At least thats one theory

I actually have a mac mini running as a imessage relay and using (bluebubbles.app) to relay them to my android (been using it the moment I switched from ios to android). It works quite well.

The anoying catch is you have to use imessage via email. The biggest draw is imessage on iphone will show two duplicate chats one for sms and one for email.

I’m sorta working on decomissioning that relay and either switching to the closest 3rdparty app or moving people to sms. I don’t have many imessage group chats (I basically have none right now). Hence why I made this post (to test the waters)

As for image quality a partial solution is if I need to use sms I can either use google photos or samsung link share (though this only preservers the quality of images/videos I send and doesn’t fix poor quality photos comming back to me).

I have tried it though I switched back to bluebubble and mac relay (until things cool down).

With pypush the error seems to come when generating validaiton data (it either gets stuck endlessly or shows a error saying no cert found). Pypush is still able to communicate with apples sms gateway (and the gateway still sends sms replies). Additionally 2fa codes are still triggered and sent.

The weirdest part is even if you import your own real mac serial (data.plist) the same issue arises (I tried with my personal 2011 mac mini).

I wonder if the issue specifically relates to pypush trying to spoof a m1 mac using a intel mac serial, or the uncanny vally of registering a phone number through a mac serial.

I do wonder how this compares to current payment processors (Visa, Mastercard, Paypal, etc)

A weird shower thought. Could Grausam be to Georgine like Hartmoot is to Rozrmyne?

  1. Both name sworn
  2. Both over devoted to Lady
  3. Very good at plotting (Hartmoot Roz Saint, while Grausom may have help spread Georgine’s image as the only stable option).
  4. Willing to go against Dutchy (no examples with Hartmoot but it’s a possibility…)

Idk if I’m looking to deep into things 🙃

I have a fire tv cube just direct launch into apps to avoid this. For example instead of powering on the fire tv with power button I tell Alexa to open the app I need.

Down side is this doesn’t really work with sieloaded apps like smart tube

I do wonder if Roz is Aub how she would handle scenarios where she is forced to prioritize one Dutchy over the other.

For example currently Roz could easly dump Arinsbach since her family and medal are in Erinfest.

However say the Gutenberg are transfered to arinsbach, if she was presented with same scenario prioritize Erinfest or Arinsbach I wonder how she would choose.

Only time I every encountered the popup was when I used orion with its built in adblocker. And even then I gat one warning (no metion of 3 strike policy). Only change now is the added a 3 second timer to the dismiss button.

Edit: Ublock origen and firefox as usual no issue

Anyone else sad that the part left on a cliffhanger 😥

Love the climax in this part. Especially dunks reacted to the no casualties as “meh boring”.

What if it measured the movements of the user to determine if an impact occured.

Example modern smart watches can determine if someone has fallen and call emergency services with an accelerometer.

Maybe the logic was

  • impact detected
  • hostile intent detected (maybe via mana sense or some other mechanism) – counter atack to hostile intent.

Idk if this would work. Just a shower thought 🙃
