@oatmeal@palestine@israel The "NO + ABSTAIN" list is interesting. Mostly micro-states plus the usual suspects (US & Israel) & a few vassals like Germany.
@oatmeal@palestine@israel A number of the Pacific mini-states are engaged with China, but not "aligned". Recently, the #US has been fomenting riots that they like to call "protests" (in the Solomons) and threatening and cajoling those islands it treated like trash for 70 years to encourage them to refuse to deal with China. I suspect Nauru was one of those targeted when it became too "friendly" with #China.
@immibis Looks like Germany only abstained (bad enough). I cannot read the list, but what about Poland? Hungary and Czechia, no surprise. @israel@palestine@oatmeal@KarunaX

@GRA3432@oatmeal@KarunaX@immibis@israel@palestine#Israel is not a decent country and is a rogue state. The Netherlands, center of international justice, immediately disqualifies itself by working together with this criminal country.
A historical day no doubt considering how Palestinians were betrayed by the international community, and the #UN in particular when considering its charter, when partition was adopted against the will of the majority of people living in #Palestine in 1947. It’s not over yet, but the ability of the US to deny the Palestinians their rights by abusing an absurd veto power, are hopefully diminishing.
I think this accelerates U.S. leaving tne United Nations.
#American#institutions are pot-committed to denying sovereign statehood to certain groups that are inconvenient to the #BodyPolitic, and it always has been.
@paninid yes... subaltern-ity is something that needs to be understood more in this context, since it's still implied and disguised as in arguments such us "only through direct negotiations"... Palestinians don't need to accept Israel's right to exist, as a principal, to have their own rights to be recognized as legitimate. It's not either or.
As for the US and Nazi Germany, from eugenics to corporate sponsorship of Nazism, ... well... so much to work with.
[…] The UN General Assembly convened again in New York on Friday for an emergency special session on the #Gaza crisis and overwhelmingly passed a resolution which upgrades Palestine’s rights at the world body as an Observer State, without offering full membership. It urged the Security Council to give “favourable consideration” to Palestine’s request.
