    I went and watched the 1st episode of season 7, and even when the droids surrender, the Republic clones seem to enjoy destroying them.

    It's a weird coincidental fictional progression of:

    • Data in taking such care of potentially new artificial life, to
    • the episode where Sisko is suddenly cool with using the terrible subspace mines, to
    • where they basically put no value on potential enemy life.
