In mid-December and early January Quaker oats issued two massive recalls for salmonella risk. Many of their biggest products were involved. Other recalls were issued in February as well.

As of today many and perhaps even most of those products are still not on the shelves. It's unusual to see this kind of delay, and I wonder if anyone knows......

I don't know how many generations it would take, but in a short time race would cease to be an issue at all when we get to egalitarianism of marriage/children.

We'll all be a nice shade of bronze. Lovely.

Do you use the device you torrent on for personal things as well?

I'm just curious as I've permanently dedicated my laptop to torrenting. I've been too nervous to install anything but the VPN and Firefox on it. Now, I'm curious to mess around with Linux some more, which is what I use on it, but I can't fully test out what all I can do with it without signing into accounts....

Maybe we could convince the military that they are rail guns. Yeah, it's rail gun research, and it will finally result in the defeat of those...other guys.

Of course, it will never work because they only trust a few companies like Lockheed to do their dirty stuff.

Melatonin ,

It could be. Could be.

Probably not.

But could be.

Okay, I would love to see the prompt for this. It has to be TLDR, but I just want to know what it looks like.

Because THAT'S the true work of art.

Melatonin ,

Is that a good deal? I mean, it says "multi-million" and then it sells for less than 1/2 million, so I'm guessing good deal.

IDK, part it out on eBay?

What are some free interests/things/hobbies you can do in the city?

I live alone and I'm just wasting away my time here. It's actually making me very depressed to be honest. I do live in the city which makes think there ought to be at least something to do out here. Though I can't really afford to spent money on it every day....

Melatonin ,

Groups and clubs. They exist, you need to find them. The public library is a good place to start looking.

Melatonin ,

I suggest you read "The Game: Penetrating The Secret Society of Pickup Artists” by Neil Strauss. Not to become a 'pickup artist', which itself is a joke and a very shallow life even if one were "good at it". No.

However, there is a chapter or two, I can't remember how much but it could have been half the book, about self-actualization that I thought was very useful. About making your life full, so that you have a rich background of things you enjoy doing to bring people to.

It's been forever since I read it, but it's an interesting read, especially when Courtney Love is being den-mother to a houseful of pick-up artists in training. Neil Strauss can tell a story. He also wrote a biography about living with Mötley Crüe that is pretty depraved.

It's a schooner

It's the opposite of crossing your eyes. Try imagining your focusing your eyes in something past the picture, behind it.

It would be a cool niche to grab, serving the needs of the unsigned-in.

Give me a synonym. Until then I'll use it.

Torrenting exposes your public IP. In a country where government doesn't care, does that pose a risk?

I honestly don't believe I will have any legal trouble because I don't do anything like cp or worse, I just pirate media I like, not even porn. But across users of communities, or on public trackers, is IP exposure something to be concerned about?

Melatonin ,

Worse than CP?

NM, I don't want to know.

If you could take a single character out of a piece of media (book, film, TV show, video game, etc) who would it be?

They would lose any magical powers they may have had in the book, but anything they are, rather than can do, will stay. For example people from the His Dark Materials world would keep their daemons. You can take them out at any time in the story's plot, but for all other people consuming the media, it will be shown that the...

Is it too late to turn off security updates and avoid this issue?

Melatonin ,

Not acceptable. I don't know laws in the UK but that person should lose their job. Workplace harassment is a serious offense, as you are REQUIRED to be there, so your employer is required to provide you with a safe, harassment-free workplace.

Keep evidence, keep everything, report everything, and keep doing it. Keep personal logs of who you talked to and when, what was said, even if there's no other record. It's possibly going to cost you your "team member" status, but that's what the harasser is counting on. They are sadistic, and they're going out of their way to make your life miserable and endanger your job and peace of mind.

Show them no mercy.

Old guy here. Word.

Didn't be a dipshit. You can't understand their point?

They're not talking about technology. They're talking about creative quality of content.

Melatonin ,

I know, and I wasn't taking the statements literally. But the point of the hyperbole was quite clear. Didn't be a dipshit yourself.

Melatonin ,

Lol, the modern quality comment.

What animated film or tv show is this? ( i.imgur.com )

For me the first thing that comes to mind is Tales from Earthsea. I don't think it's excellent or anything and has plenty of problems but people act like it killed their dog. While it has its problems that have been covered extensively, I think it has a beautiful atmosphere and art....

Horror movies is a completely different scale. Subtract 2 for horror, just because. Witch sounds like a good horror title.

Subtract 2 for Horror

I'm not worried about dying. I believe if I'm here on earth I'm here for a reason and so I'm content to be here until such time as I'm not needed anymore. I enjoy being with my family and having a cup of tea with my wife, as someone here has already mentioned.

I know there are a lot of distinctions in religion but I don't believe being "really good" is an option for humans. I believe being saved from our innate brokenness is the only way anyone could possibly go to heaven. I'm not particularly attracted to religious things or practices.

So yes, I'm excited to go be with God, but I'm not about to take matters into my own hands. It would fly in the face of humbling yourself before the Almighty.

It is essential to Christianity that Jesus was raised from the dead. Without that, there is no message. Source: the Bible

"...if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied."

1 Corinthians 15: 17-19
