It has already been banned (rightly so) in Wales and Scotland. Why are England and NI so slow to do so? I browsed the Time coverage of the same story and had my answer. Full of comment along the lines of ‘it never did me any harm’ and ‘parents have the right to control their own children’. 🥴
At the time of Sinead O'Connor's SNL event, the news did get to Brazil, but not the explanation of why she did it (that I can recall).
In Brazil there is a common kids' "game" that consists in just running after someone says: "the last to arrive will be the priest's woman". I never understood what that meant, no kid really does.
Except the ones that do.
