Reminder that BEV fanatics are still stuck in the past. It's laughable they're still repeating the same outdated garbage from 2014. They still think batteries costs are dropping (just an illusion caused by China's subsidies), or that charging is somehow already solved (not even close).
In reality, BEVs are on their way out. It is already losing to PHEVs and hybrids now. Newer ideas like FCEVs will drive them entirely out of the market later.
@phlogiston This is BEV propaganda. It is blatantly ignoring real problems, such as how "direct charging" isn't actually possible with 100% renewables.
The practical differences in efficiency is negligible, and in many scenarios a hydrogen or (rarely) power-to-liquid solution is the more efficient idea.
I’m glad to see more sane takes on the upside of hybrids, PHEVs and FCEVs over BEVs. Reddit’s car community used to be dominated by nutty BEV fanatics, but now those are mostly pushed out and discredited. People are now realizing that other types of EVs have value. BEVs are not going to take over the world anytime soon.
@NVEVA Hydrogen cars have neither the upfront problems of BEVs, nor the long-term issues of conventional ICE cars. But of course, we suffer from a BEV cult that rejects all alternatives. In reality, BEVs are just a transitional technology and will be replaced by something superior.
