What's a good solution for connecting to a #Mac from a #Linux system using #Wayland remotely (on the same LAN)?

I've tried:

1. #Remmina: works, but painfully slow, same as other VNC clients.
2. #AnyDesk: faster but doesn't handle high DPI. Worse, it doesn't seem to support mapping keys at all, i.e. I can't send any shortcuts to Mac.
3. #NoMachine: totally broken on Mac where it doesn't show any text in its windows (!!). Incredibly weird .deb package.

Is there anything else?

A Russian friend I've known for a long time and who is fervently anti-Putin decided to go back to Russia a few months ago. He's lived in the US for many years. I tried to talk him out of it, and told him he was insane to do this. But he went anyway. We used to chat all the time. But I haven't heard a peep from him since. Now, every time I want to share something with him I get pissed off and sad at the same time.
