I was having an email conversation with Stoo Cambridge, and he mentioned that he was having trouble making his Linux machine display thumbnails of Amiga IFF/ILBM files. It turns out I have a solution for him, so I am sharing it here to help anyone else.

The Bedford Independent has learned of plans to replace the Bedford River Festival with an annual summer ‘family festival’ that organisers say will “celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures, businesses, organizations, and groups that make Bedford Borough truly exceptional”.

Did anybody else watch this? It’s about a creepy haunted farmhouse in Wales. What I find a bit odd was there was no mention of when the hauntings stopped or what might have triggered that. The new owner was rather relaxed about the whole thing, even digging up the gravestone which apparently kicked the whole thing off!

When blocking an instance it blocks the instance of the poster (which is correct), however the toast message says it has blocked the instance of the community. Gave me a bit of a panic as I thought it had blocked a large and popular instance rather than a spam domain!

I think this band deserve more love, they’re sort of punk folk rock. They have a new album out recently too (I’ll Put My Voodoo On You).

Saw this last week in Settle - they have a pot festival with loads of characters created out of plant pots.

Just an early heads up (very early - I’ll forget otherwise), that BBC2 is repeating this Australian comedy series. I enjoyed it the first time around but it didn’t appear to get much publicity, so I doubt many have seen it.
