Is there a solution for spam from federated communities?

Recently, there's been a pretty serious spam bot on a federated community: https://fedia.io/u/@ThuleanSneed@startrek.website

While the spam posts are deleted there, they aren't being deleted here. This is screwing up the comment sections on a lot of posts. Is there a solution for this?

Report at least one of the posts from any spam account you see. I try to suspend and delete them as I see them, but alas I am not omniscient and don’t know where all the spam accounts are

thanks. I think I've gotten rid of all the spam accounts, posts, and replies from the recent issue, but there may be more I am not finding.

I wonder if there is a way for federation to not bring over comments from federated accounts under a certain age to give the admins a chance to remove them?
