@hamed - I don't know, I'm connected with a good few on there but I'm not a huge fan of either of these platforms, so this is the lesser of the two evils methinks...
@danielloftus@hamed Probably lots of folks into genealogy on Mastodon... could start a community here, just using a hashtag. Or find one to join that already exists.
@Steph_the_prysmcat@danielloftus@hamed There is a #Genealogy community on Mastodon maintained via both hashtags and a genealogy-specific instance as well. It is just not as active as it potentially could be
@david@jane_chapman@Steph_the_prysmcat@danielloftus@hamed@genealogy@genchat I think people forget that all engagement is up to them. There's no algorithm to boost your posts---just you and others. If someone asks a genealogy question or info. Like and retoot. Use # s for appealing to potentially interested viewers. And foloow # s to stay in the loop.

I agree. Have complicated my life slightly by being on two instances at the same time. I recently joined this one to be with my Pebble friends but I don't want to give up my .nz one until this one is better established (given that it was descibed as an experiment when it first started).
