Watching this Metal Jesus discussion about physical vs. digital-only game releases and there’s something all these YouTubers are missing.

Services like GOG.com offer DRM-free digital games—which means you can buy a digital game and store it on physical media if you want. This can be your physical copy.

Also, you can make your own box with your own artwork. Sure, it won’t be “official” but it will be yours.

None of you folks need to miss out on physical media—if that’s what you want to keep around.

If I’m being honest, I haven’t exactly stopped buying physical games. But when I buy them, they’re usually for other people.

But for myself, I mostly go with digital games because I’m sick and tired of dealing with collectors on the second hand market who treat physical games like investments.

I’m not the kind of guy who likes showing off my shelf. Nobody’s been impressed by it anyway.
