People who reply to questions with YouTube videos are like people who reply to questions with command line code. If the question isn't "What's the command for..." don't do that.
@jessamyn it also feels so strange to go from "this is the Internet, I'll give you the answer because that's what humans do!" to "I need to monetize the answer to this somehow, let's make a very long video of it"
I'm happy to type a detailed explanation for you, that you can skim, copy-paste, edit and in general do whatever you want with it. I'm not happy to give you a similarly detailed exposition with the same answer, because that's highly inefficient for me. Other people want either the one sentence written response or the hour-long meeting.
