On this rainy afternoon I’m listening to Teddy Swims as he sings “Some Things I’ll Never Know” featuring Marin Morris.
What a beautiful ballad…sweetness. #teddyswims#songoftheday#songs #marinmorris
Just read an article on Bonnie Raitt and it reminded me how much I loved her song “I can’t make you love me.” Great memories. Then there’s the Teddy Swims powerful cover of the same song. Wow. #BonnieRaitt#teddyswims#songoftheday#song#songs
We're praying for the world
And for the people everywhere
Gonna show them all we care
Oh my sleeping child
The world's so wild
But you've built your own paradise
That's one reason why I'll cover you, sleeping child
If all the people around the world
They had a mind like yours
We'd have no fighting and no wars
There would be lasting peace on Earth
If all the kings and all the leaders
Could see you here this way
They would hold the Earth in their arms
They would learn to watch you play (they would learn)
Oh my sleeping Child
Subterraneans by David Bowie, performed live at Montreux Jazz Festival 2002
Low is in my top 5 albums and I'm still mad at myself I didn't visit Hansa Studio when I was in Berlin (the place where many of my fave albums by various bands were recorded). I consider Brian Eno's Before and After Science (another top 5 album) the twin to Bowie's Low. I just... adore the atmospheric B-side of both albums.
I generally don't like covers but this one is so well executed, with an orchestra!
ofc I expect nothing less from Hazuki who is the #1 LUNA SEA fanboy. I also appreciate his choice to cover Forever & Ever bc it's not really a "popular" ballad in terms of LS lore, most people would default to I For You or Gravity.
