If your car was built in the last decade or so, it's probably collecting and potentially sharing all sorts of data about you. Here’s how to figure out what that might include. https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2024/03/how-figure-out-what-your-car-knows-about-you-and-opt-out-sharing-when-you-can

If, to my knowledge, my car is not on the internet,
how does the data get off of my car and onto the internet?

Is somebody paying for my car to use a phone? Or maybe satellite connection?

So, I got some good news this week on a new project, that along with Bea Wolf is part of a long term plot to seize people's children and turn them into English majors, and in particular the kind of English major who has reservations about who's in the Canon but can also quote from Chaucer, Pope, Dickinson, and Kipling upon request.

I saw Bea Wolf in the background of this video -- on the table to the right.

Anyone ever read Philip K Dick's "Clans of the Alphane Moon" ? I've read a lot of Dick's books and they're all weird, but this is the first time I have no clue what's going on because it's almost word salad. Like, I suspect I could diagram things and connect the dots but Jesus Christ it's just wall to wall madness.

I enjoyed it greatly.

The premise that everyone belonged to one of five or so groups... fits well with both HP and Divergent.

My main problem was not recognizing technical psychological terms from the 1960's.

Me: The issues raised here are complex and largely unresolved. Here's a 100 page paper my colleagues and and I wrote that discuss a few of these questions.

The Internet: No, it's actually very simple. I haven't read your paper, and am broadly unfamiliar with the subject, but I know simple when I see it.
