@twix thanks for that. I will have to try focus stacking. That pic was at f25. The lens goes to f40, but diffraction starts creeping in down there. My camera can do auto focus stacking, so I’ll give that a shot.

Excuse the messy basement. This is another view. I have two 150w lantern lights at about 45 degrees and the flower is laying on a black glass whiteboard(?) and I have a big piece of black felt on a backdrop stand about 20 feet behind. I’m using the Nikon 105mm macro lens on at f25.

@screaminggoat @da_667 I started with a light box. It does an awesome job of illumination, but the background is very visible since it is so close. The background I’m using for these pics is about 20 feet away

@EmperorHenry these are Neewer RGB video lights. They do an amazing job of presenting most whatever color I want. In fact, they have an app for my phone that lets me point my camera at an object and the lights will replicate the color of the object

An upside-down flag, adopted by Trump supporters contesting the Biden victory, flew over the justice’s front lawn as the Supreme Court was considering an election case. After the 2020 presidential election, as some Trump supporters falsely claimed that President Biden had stolen the office, many of them displayed a startling symbol outside their homes, on their cars and in online posts: an upside-down American flag. One of the homes flying an inverted flag during that time was the residence of Supreme Court Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr., in Alexandria, Va., according to photographs and interviews with neighbors. The upside-down flag was aloft on Jan. 17, 2021, the images showed. President Donald J. Trump’s supporters, including some brandishing the same symbol, had rioted at the Capitol a little over a week before. Mr. Biden’s inauguration was three days away. Alarmed neighbors snapped photographs, some of which were recently obtained by The New York Times. Word of the flag filtered back to the court, people who worked there said in interviews. While the flag was up, the court was still contending with whether to hear a 2020 election case, with Justice Alito on the losing end of that decision. In coming weeks, the justices will rule on two climactic cases involving the storming of the Capitol on Jan. 6, including whether Mr. Trump has immunity for his actions.

    @jgmitchell303 @fbarton it was added to mastodon quite some time ago. It's intended to be shown to new accounts, but I think there are certain conditions that will cause it to be shown to existing accounts - I don't know what those conditions are - I periodically get people complaining about it.

    Avoid this service at all costs if you are queer.

    @mvilain @capital I know it’s popular to hate on Hetzner right now, but I work in this industry and while the specific words might be different, nearly all providers, and particularly those that are on the lower cost end, will have similar terms, including Linode (https://www.linode.com/legal-aup/)

    @mvilain @capital the difference with Hetzner is that they tend to be very definitive and not open to explanations, as with the case that caused the current Hetzner hate fest.
