Ouch! The author has stated his credentials, maybe you should yours? I'd also suggest replying to him on his substack, because this deserves a rebuttal, so the rest of us can learn from the debate, if any.
Praise Be, Yeah like the Handmaid's Tale in real life! Well, we're not exactly democratic either with the cancelling B$ that's been happening in Canada. This burning of our history because of inconvenient truths. History is just that.
Either extremes are bad.
No one seems to have picked up that Canada is considering getting nuclear submarines or getting into the ballistic missile defense treaty, that the Chretien liberal government had refused to join. That party was MY Liberal party, which practiced true Liberalism, not the neoliberalism we see today with Trudeau's government, which is right leaning. Much intolerance for dissenting views. We should be alarmed!
Yeah, it usually synonymous with 'right wing' but they are a bonafide left wing site. Not liberal or neoliberal tho. Same with Glenn Greenwald. The people that don't agree with his writing are often fellow left-wingers, who claim he's ultra-right. The funny thing is, to anyone who has known or followed him for several years, knows he's the opposite. Politics isn't black & white, or shouldn't be, unless one is a party partisan — but often many shades of grey.

Now he/she/other has reported me directly saying I'm witch hunting them, when literally they're the one that has bee witch hunting moi! 🤦🏽♂️ Insane. Trying to stiffle content they don't agree with. I'm not spouting conspiracy theories. First they tried to say that my account was compromised, then this.
I apologize for the drama, but I didn't start this.
Do you know how many languages and cultures are spoken in Russia? Are you aware that the opinions expressed here by 'yours truly' are from westerners that have actually visited Russia and have studied Russia? If you have an issue with some facts, I'll debate them one-on-one with you. I do have the facts. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Languages_of_Russia
Of course, if you want to believe otherwise, that's your prerogative. In terms of Free Speech — It most definitely isn't an American concept. Last time I checked, Canada is a democracy, and free speech allows one to counteract the government or authority with speech and/or civil unrest. Maybe give this page a read: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_expression_in_Canada
What's wrong with RT? They are less propaganda driven than our MSM. I'm found them to be quite more accurate and truthful than what we're being told. We're still being told that Ukraine is winning — when it hasn't been for at least a year. That's why they've been banned in most western media.
That's the way we did it in the old days — Read several papers, as it was no secret that each had an editorial bent.
Russia is quite different from what we're led to believe. It's a downright democratic nation, albeit a conservative one. They probably have a more diverse culture than any of our countries/cities in The West, and that's including my own very multicultural city, Toronto. I've found that listening to some ExSpooks in the CIA/DIA from the 1st Cold War, who were no friends of Soviet Russia, but who have studied Russia for decades, and even speak the language to be a fountain of information.
If they're convinced that Russia is now a democratic country, who am I to argue? They have far more experience than any of us. I'm referring to fellas like Larry Johnson, Alastair Crooke, Ray McGovern, Phil Giraldi, Colonel (ret'd) Macgregor, and Scott Ritter. All of whom have studied the Soviet Union and were privy to secret privileged information.
We simply can't believe any of our commercial main stream media to tell us the truth, as the 4th estate has been co-opted by our intelligence services when it comes to foreign policy. Informed opinion is a necessity to understand our world, and thank god for the Internet; otherwise we'd still be in the dark. This is another reason why our governments are bringing in so-called “child protection” legislation, who wouldn't want that, right? Unfortunately, it's a smokescreen to prevent free speech and will be an omnibus bill.
And then there is Twitter/X. Regardless of what one thinks of Elon Musk — he did much to enlighten us about how the American FBI and CIA, were censoring speech on the platform (without due process or following the law) before Musk buying it. This is a known fact.
Agreed. I'm a truth seeker foremost and a switch hitter when it comes to politics.
In terms of the Climate Crisis, it's upon us. In my opinion, there is little we can do to stop it. I find it mildly amusing that none of the Climate Crisis proponents, for change, said anything about the Nordstream Pipeline sabotage by the US. I'm told, the sabotage released the largest amount of hydrocarbons into the atmosphere in one single instance in recorded history. Where was Greta then?!
Electric vehicles aren't the answer, either. The batteries needed require rare earth metals, necessitating environmental damaging mining, The West doesn't have an abundance of these metals. Hence, part of the reason for wanting Russia's collapse. They have the largest reserves of such metals. I wish we'd mind our own business geopolitically and concentrate on our issues.
What we have seen in the last few years in Ukraine shows that no decision was really based on factual analysis. It was based on assumptions and even a totally false narrative…for two years, we kept saying that the Russians were losing the war…today we are exactly in the opposite situation’...

Baggins what's suspect about a geopolitical subreddit? I was on Reddit for over 13 years and posted the same information. I'm a geopolitical nerd who happens to like the TML. 🤦🏽♂️
I've been keeping my eye on this project. Eventually, I hope to use it for an instance on my own metal, as it promises to be a lighter on resources' server than Mastodon.
