Today, I started to summarise report decisions this way, so I don't have to type lengthy explanations:

  1. Case decision: “Reported because I was offended.”

  2. Case decision: “Reported because I disagree.”

  3. Case decision: “Reported because they stated facts.”

  4. Case decision: “Reported because while we have a common ground, they still stay neutral and/or claiming both sides are wrong.”

  5. Case decision: “Reported because only trolls speak eloquently or as a civilised individual.”

  6. Case decision: “Reported because I just want to report them.”

It pretty much sums up the majority of reports in the fediverse. ^_~

Legit violations are actually rare. And spam accounts are seasonal.

Once again, is king.

It is time-consuming, and we're doing this voluntarily, with no pay. So, for the nth time: CONTEXT.

I can't help but notice how the purpose of quotation marks are lost for some people.

When a person includes quotation marks, it means it is not their own words, by the name of the marks itself "quotation", they were simply quoting something for the sake of the discussion.

In addition to that, context is king. An example, if I call someone "negro", am I being racist? Did you check the context? I'm a Filipino, the word "negro" simply means "dark" in our language. In fact, there are also many native Africans here and they themselves use "negro" because in their respective languages it simply means "black".

Now that you know the context, am I still racist just because I used "negro"?

Here's another example.

If I declare, "All hail the KKK!" Or, "Thank you KKK!" Am I being a white supremacist?

Once again, context is king. Did you check? Did you ask?

KKK in the was a revolutionary group that was formed to fight Western Colonialism, in particular the Spaniards, and for a brief time, the Americans too.

Is it wrong to praise the revolutionary group who fought against the colonial powers who enslaved us?

Context is king.

I want to say something about the that is going on, but… nope, I'm staying away from it.

What is a chat war?

=> A chat war is a digital war where both camps in a “debate” are reporting each other just because they can; regardless of the .

You eventually reach the age when you just go to work because you need to, not because you enjoy it.
