@lowqualityfacts

The difference is from their respective origins.

One was harvested from the Himalayas, the other from the table.

holgerpatzelt ,

@lowqualityfacts not quite, it’s the ecological footprint as well.

@lowqualityfacts Himalayan salt is not sea salt. It's mined in Pakistan and India. Sea salt is derived from sea water. Two different types of salt. Any difference between them or with table salt is personal preference and taste.

@lowqualityfacts I have a PhD (Purely hypothetical degree) in salt and studies have shown that salt color depends on elevation. Death Valley salt for example is green.

Salt color depends on elevation, in that sometimes it looks pink if you're high.

@lowqualityfacts Regular table salt is pink?

SebasTEAan ,

@lowqualityfacts Many people are unaware, that salt changes color depending on the price tag you put on it. It's called luxur sensitive.

@lowqualityfacts Um, that's a real nutritional fact, although I suppose you could count the colour as a difference.

@lowqualityfacts Quite correct. Salt is salt, varying only in trace minerals which don't affect the flavour.
