I’m having just the most unrelatable first world problems all week this week. The hotel surge pricing for the conference I’m at hit $1k a night, but I recently quit my job and don’t have disposable income anymore, so figured I’d go with the cheapest hotel I could find. Growing up I shared budget hotel rooms with my family, so it’s not like I’m new to this…. But for some reason last night felt worse than the night I spent in jail 😭
@malwaretech I have a colleague who has recently decided he likes to stay at youth hostels, where you get to know a lot of nice and interesting people from all over the world. I myself would quite often sleep in youth hostels when hitchhiking in Europe and beyond as a teenager. It's the more enjoyable the more extrovert you are.
