I've been wavering on choosing a cloud provider to sync my data with. I really was hoping to use #ProtonDrive, but I really need a #Linux client. I was using #Google dive, but I really do not like how their system works.
So, I am going to go with #Dropbox I am not particularly excited to use them, but just yesterday, my wife needed an ID which she did not have. If my data was in the #cloud, I could have just shown it on the phone.
@my_actual_brain I do wish Proton would come out with a way to sync straight from the my machine without having to go through a web app. In the meantime, I've been using #cryptomator to backup to #OneDrive and it's worked well for me so far!
I thought I was going to have to install Cinnamon for Debian. My 'Dave' user doesn't have permission to run sudo (?), so I logged out with the intention to log back in as root.
Then I noticed this icon (lower right). I guess those are different desktops you can choose from? Pretty cool.
How could this happen? Owners of #Chamberlain#MyQ automatic garage door openers just woke up to discover that the company had confiscated valuable features overnight, and that there was nothing they could do about it.

You can't delete your #OneDrive account until you provide an acceptable explanation for your disloyalty:

Ciekawe jest to, że wykładowcy (według moich obserwacji) korzystają z hostowanego przez uczelnię #Nextcloud, natomiast my, studenci, korzystamy z #OneDrive lub systemu projektów, wbudowanego w tenże stworzony przez uczelnię system.
System ma dwie drobne wady - pierwszy (który jest dość zrozumiały), czyli nie jest open-source oraz drugi, czyli że jest powiązany z #Microsoft365 (logowanie przez konto #Microsoft, #poczta na #Outlook, ćwiczenia na #Teams (chociaż wykłady już obsługuje uczelniany system z pomocą #Wowza!)), ale szczerze mówiąc nie jest to zbyt problematyczne, bo Microsoft nie otrzymuje żadnych danych, które mogą mi zaszkodzić w jakiś sposób.
I took it off, and it's saving me a fortune in power, time and patience. Power especially! Those fans were running all of the time.
I don't understand how a user-level application is even allowed to lock the entire machine for minutes at a time and make it unusable after a while. That's some seriously bad #Engineering there and not at all #Environment friendly!
