I've been wavering on choosing a cloud provider to sync my data with. I really was hoping to use , but I really need a client. I was using dive, but I really do not like how their system works.

So, I am going to go with I am not particularly excited to use them, but just yesterday, my wife needed an ID which she did not have. If my data was in the , I could have just shown it on the phone.

@my_actual_brain I do wish Proton would come out with a way to sync straight from the my machine without having to go through a web app. In the meantime, I've been using to backup to and it's worked well for me so far!

I thought I was going to have to install Cinnamon for Debian. My 'Dave' user doesn't have permission to run sudo (?), so I logged out with the intention to log back in as root.

Then I noticed this icon (lower right). I guess those are different desktops you can choose from? Pretty cool.

@DaveMasonDotMe I am NOT advocating the use of .

But in certain situations for specific documents, you may find yourself with no alternative.

Microsoft 365 works well using (snap).

Use the OneDrive Client for to synchronise the contents of your with your Linux system.

That way you can use remotely and maintain a local copy of your documents.

How could this happen? Owners of automatic garage door openers just woke up to discover that the company had confiscated valuable features overnight, and that there was nothing they could do about it.

But the OG digital companies are the masters of enshittification. Microsoft has been at this game for longer than anyone, and every day brings a fresh way that Microsoft has worsened its products without fear of consequence. The latest?

- That's what was locking up my so badly.

I took it off, and it's saving me a fortune in power, time and patience. Power especially! Those fans were running all of the time.

I don't understand how a user-level application is even allowed to lock the entire machine for minutes at a time and make it unusable after a while. That's some seriously bad there and not at all friendly!

This is on but it's just as bad on
