Yesterday I was very creative at our demonstration table in the museum: my first collage that isn't just paper & paint. There was no audience (people probably used the rare sunshine for outdoor events), but we had fun! Now some small embroidery in gold to finish it. Should I make more collages with textile parts? 🤔 @embroidery@fibrearts@fiberarts
I've been collecting too many lichen photos, so here's a small photo dump of a few of them. I find the flat ones just as interesting as the curly ones, and they're all the more interesting the closer you look.
That last one was an alpine forest species, and much larger than the others
Okay...so...TECHNICALLY this was finished while it was still MY Friday, so I'm posting it today. #PraiseHim#PrayerCloth is cross stitched on the front panel. Outlines that would normally be #Backstitch are #CrossQuilted to make the project double-sided. I should be able to finish the second copy tonight. After that, I'll be correcting errors and posting the proofed pattern to Ko-Fi. If anyone is interested, let me know and I'll tell you when free digital & paid printable versions are available.
I entered this piece in Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival's Skein and Garment competition and got first place in my category! Huzzah! So glad I finished it in time!
Finally finished on the #CrossStitch portion of the two copies of #PraiseHim#PrayerCloth! WHOO HOO!!! Now the easy part-- #CrossQuilting! As you can see, I already started around the central circle on the Sun, so the backs aren't very impressive yet. When I'm finished, I'll be correcting the pattern, posting it to Ko-Fi (emailing an updated, CORRECTED copy to those with the unproofed version), and then on to much a much less complicated project! #ThankGod for #LightAtTheEndOfTheTunnel! 😄🥳🎉🥳🎉
So, my #embroidery project about The Sentinel video game is finally completed!

@mem_somerville It makes me sad to read that this behaviour exists. Could it be a cultural problem?
I volunteer in a French #CulturalHeritage centre and #museum (early 20th c.) with two international #fibreArt festivals and never ever experienced this. Not only that in France ancient #crafts and skills are strongly supported, meanwhile many institutions look for people who can teach these skills. Our #embroidery group (the youngest 61) can hardly save itself from requests for presentations in
