I've been collecting too many lichen photos, so here's a small photo dump of a few of them. I find the flat ones just as interesting as the curly ones, and they're all the more interesting the closer you look.

That last one was an alpine forest species, and much larger than the others

Another collection of variable-coloured lichen. The strongest ones here are a bright orange flakey-looking one with raised cups, and a silver-grey one above it. However, there's a more upright orange one in the top corner that looks like flames, a different grey one with little hairs coming out of the sides of its lobes, and a mixture of flat ones in shades of brown, black, grey and white filling in the gaps between them all

I'm afraid (as I suspected @BjornIdle ) the detailed approach is winnjng out. This is not going to be the "quick project" I had in mind 🤣

WIP: Lotara Sarrin

I must have knocked her over by accident because at some point her judgemental finger fell off. Time to check the bits for a spare Necron finger to replace it with. I'm pleased with the clothing, need to shade and layer the face and the door she is standing on feels like it could use some rust.

I can’t decide if I like the bowl color on this ? The other color I was considering was a dark green, but open to thoughts!

I also want to add a wabi sabi crack too, so there will be a small@amount of gold.

A visual test for font, the character (a cute dragonish warrior with pink hair) says: Thank you For your feedback on my previous post. I forked 'Patrick Hand' and used it to customize my own font called deevadhand. It should be easily readable. Except if I mumble in a 14px size font, or worst in a 12px size font, hi hi. Then, the page list specifications of both fonts, with an alphabet.

    Something I haven't posted in a while but after I started reducing my screen time to preserve the little left of my sanity, I went back to my old comfort hobbies. Here's the mother of all projects I'm working on after I took a couple of months pause. Still doesn't look like much but I promise, it's going to get much better. If I keep working on it that is.

    A delicate lace shawl knit work in progress. Just the edge is visible. It has two adorable stitch markers, a small radish and two peas in a pod with little faces on all of them. Similar stitch markers are in a shallow wooden dish above the knitting. There's a pottery dish with small frosted beads. Next to it is a tiny crochet hook. The yarn goes from the knitting to a ball on a wooden yarn butler.

    A few rows into the 4th skein (out of 6, 25 gram / 100 meter per skein) I have a wingspan of roughly 90 cm when stretched as if to block.

    Looks like I'll get to somewhere between small and medium at least for the pattern (small is 112 cm wingspan).

    Pattern is from bought on Ravelry and is called Cliathrach

    A shawl in the works, triangular shaped with the long side slightly curved so the end points curve inwards each other. it is part garter stitch and part trellis lace, the garter part is bigger and is seen near the long edge, the lace part goes from the right hand point towards a place roughly one third in from the right edge and out towards the right side of the triangle forming a triangle within the triangle. A blue knitting needle is seen on the right side, the cable is red. A gray line goes parallell to the live stitch edge, this is an inserted lifeline a few rows down. A couple small round stitch markers can be seen where the division between garter and lace is, one on the lifeline and one on the live edge. The skein is laying just above the upper point.

    I started a new crochet doll today.

    This one is special. This doll is wearing traditional Ukrainian garb. The rooster from the pattern is the Unbreakable Rooster, a ceramic jug that remained unbroken in a Kyiv apartment during the early days of the invasion. (I do urge you to check out the pattern and read the whole story!)

    Getting notions…

    I bought a little DIY clock mechanism a while back. Always thought I'd make an embroidery for it somehow, but didn't take into account just how big an 8" diameter really is…

    …especially with a design as big as this. x___x

    But… it would look SO COOL if I ever finished it! But… so much work…
