    The breach at Sisense is a reminder that it’s not possible to prevent 100% of breaches, but it is possible to empower software engineering teams with the knowledge and tools they need to keep secrets safe.

    Learn how to secure your developer credentials with 1Password

    Number 2: Use secrets references, even in dotenv files. The best defense is to use secrets references that can be replaced programmatically at run time.
    Number 3: Inspect Git commits for secrets. Businesses should inspect Git commits as a last safety check to make sure credentials aren’t accidentally committed to shared repositories.
    Number 4: Strengthen cloud infrastructure by blocking public access by default. Amazon S3 Block Public Access can help you ensure that your Amazon S3 buckets don’t allow public access.

    The U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) are investigating a breach at Sisense, a business intelligence company. The breach appears to have impacted over 1,000 companies.

    Attackers gained access to Sisense’s self-hosted GitLab environment and were able to copy several terabytes of customer data, including millions of access tokens, passwords, and even SSL certificates.

    In case anyone from @1password is reading this, you may want to get in touch with me. I have reported a security vulnerability via their bugbounty program, and bugcrowd's staff thinks it's "not applicable", in my view clearly misinterpreting the program's rules. I am pretty sure it's something they want to address. I may consider other means of disclosure if this is "not applicable" for their bugbounty program..

    Users running 1Password 8 are not impacted by the issue below.

    We are aware of an issue where customers using legacy versions of 1Password (downloaded from the Mac App Store) may receive an error message indicating that the 1Password app is damaged.

    The 1Password team is currently investigating the root cause of this issue.

    1. Ensuring the Mac’s system time is set automatically in System Settings > General > Date & Time.

    2. Restarting your Mac.

    If these steps do not work for you, please contact us at support@1password.com. This issue is only affecting legacy versions of 1Password that are no longer supported. We recommend that all users upgrade to 1Password 8, the officially supported version of 1Password.

    Spent the entire holiday studying. Still having lots of difficulty with React, my head just can't wrap around the syntax of this thing.

    At least I finished setting up my old laptop with Ubuntu. Thanks to passkeys on @1password, setting all my apps and browsers was a breeze. It's nice to live in the future!
