All this talk of the aurora borealis reminded me that I contributed a creature based on that phenomena to the Scientific Secrets of Icewind Dale compilation on the DMs Guild. Ugh, since I started watching more YouTubers last week, my recommendations are now filled with video after video with clickbaity titles and thumbnails talking about the Cynthia Williams resignation. One is over 2 hours long! There's no way anyone has more information than what Rascal News reported in like three tweets, and they certainly have no insight into the Hasbro C-Suite. I almost regret subscribing to more TTRPG YouTubers. The discourse sucks y'all.

This part of the ICV2 analysis of the hobby game channel falling off in sales is strange to me. Were there people saying "I wanted to get the most recent release but they just can't pull box office?" If movie box office negates sales, why doesn't video game sales increase them?

Just to clarify, I'm not saying sales AREN'T down, just that this felt like some strange speculation.

The Rotten Tomatoes ranking for D&D: Honor Among Thieves, showing 91% reviewer score and 93% audience score.

Text reading: The only two categories to grow in 2023 were collectibles and miniatures. All other categories--board games, card games, and roleplaying games--were down. ICv2 reports a 30% hobby store sales decline for Dungeons & Dragons specifically, citing the impending new edition and lackluster movie performance, and the tail end of a pandemic-fuelled high; they also report that while the OGL crisis of last year impacted some lifestyle gamers, newer players as a whole were oblivious to the situation.
