I keep getting ads for autistic support services but they're always targeted towards children, or costs money to join. I am 22yo self-dx international (past) student, currently unemployed so it's very important that it's accessible to me financially.

I just really need more support at this stage of my life right now. Please boost!

I cried a lot today so decided to put on some makeup when I went out for a dinner with our friend’s mother (meeting her for the first time). We were also going to watch so I knew I was gonna cry more. Like, it’s my second time round so I knew what to do. Brought my own tissues.

i’m listening to 思念是一种病 by 张震岳 (2007). it’s kind of a comforting song to me and it has the characteristics of a nostalgic song.

the title means “missing you is a kind of illness”. it’s quite interesting, cause in the olden days when couples yearn for each other we’d say they’ve caught the “missing illness” - 相思病. so the song title is kinda like a modern interpretation or some sort of wordplay to that.

This was what me and my friend made on Monday after I texted her I need her company. She helped me do the dishes when she arrived, when we’re cooking, and after eating - because I have executive dysfunction around dishes and I’m not good at it.

Whenever I make an attempt to join networking events for the industry I wanna be in, I always get discouraged by the costs.

To know about these events, I have to pay a fee to become a member of the society.

To go to these events, I have to pay a fee for registration.

For the big conference this year, they pretended to mark down the student registration price, then separately charge for the Gala dinner (why is that even a thing? but it's necessary for me to be there as a freshie).

Oh, and instead of being able to verify my student membership with the society simply by providing my membership number, I have to "qualify" as a student to get charged the student pricing. I can't even register and have them take my money whenever I like. I have to email them to ask for it. More mental work, yay!

Sometimes I feel like this damn industry doesn't want new blood at all. They say they do, then they put up all these barriers to entry.
