The service is not ready yet. Login is simply a way to sign up for the waitlist. Auth through social media tries to cut down bots and even if you login it has read only access to your email address and nothing else.

Also it's a single dev who spent few years making it work on nvidia. At this point in time it's too early to be dismissive about projects roadmap.

In real scenario there's no need to protect the tree. the tie guy can simply enslave the other one. If he's got the lethal force, the tie guy can beat the shirt guy into any level of subjugation ie get virtually any slave service with no exchange whatsoever

Subsequently, there's no need for a stick, simply convincingly manifesting the control of situation could be function as an equivalent of lethal force. In short, conning people that you have power or having real power looks identical to subjects

In that case, mentality that you have no power over the situation, makes it real

Okay, sorry folks that it looks like a bait to beg the question "what you've done?". But the personal subject is private here.

the cat's expression meant to show gleeful private happiness over some naughty stuff one might have done and got away with

Pure gold! Imagine how difficult it was to make hundred people to stand still holding a train-like weight over their heads to capture it on prehistoric camera 😅

If I write code for the project which management abruptly cancels, can I put "Subzero coder" in my CV?

joke explanation

it's a response to colleagues putting skill of nocode / zerocode platforms in their CV and demanding onpar compensation

"subzero" here plays a double duty bc it's a cool character and also bc code, you wrote but was never used, should be counted as negative work i.e. subzero code

Ai summary

The article discusses the concept of effective altruism and its potential harm. It argues that while effective altruism promises to do good, it can also cause harm by creating a culture of utilitarianism that values efficiency over empathy and ignores the needs and perspectives of marginalized communities. The article suggests that effective altruism should be approached with caution and a critical eye towards its potential consequences.

What's your chosen diet as someone with ADHD/Autism

I’ve tried a lot of diets, and I have a lot of trouble committing and maintaining structure. I eat out every day. I don’t exercise much. I’m having trouble with willpower fasting. Still I think the most “ADHD friendly” way of dieting is likely fasting. It requires little practical restructuring of ones life, just...

Shift from “diet” to healthier nutrition. Meaning slowly build a habit of eating better without overwhelming oneself.

If you eat out, inquire about more diverse menu options. Less processed food, more protein and fiber.

It’s a journey, it takes years, don’t rush it and you’ll be surprised of the results

The project is really cool! It is definitely a proof of concept and the next step with computing module 4 must be much slimmer and easier to assemble

Amazing contribution to open hardware

What non-FOSS software are you using that you wish you could replace?

For me its honestly a ton of my work software (digital forensics), shit is too niche to be replaced by good FOSS options. Cellebrite, Magnet Axiom, etc. Autopsy is great and free and has a linux version but it simply cannot get the same level of data without a pretty nutty level of custom code....

Bloody banking apps. I’m sick of them not exposing any API to make third party apps.

Instance direction suggestion: privacy subs

As you well aware, privacy is becoming an increasingly important issue in our digital age. Many people are looking for safe spaces where they can discuss their concerns and learn from others who share their values. So much so to this day we've seen dozens of communities and instances dedicated to the topic. However, the authors...

Could you clarify what kind of help you might need to host dedicated repost-community-bridges for other privacy subs?

Additionally to minimize moderation in such repost-communities we can setup the config to repost only few daily top posts. This way Lemmy.one will have only highest quality feed with freshest content.

It would be indeed amazing to bring active contributors from r/privacy to Lemmy.one and as of now we can prove to them that fediverse is viable platform by illustrating the engagement on posts from external sources.

Am sorry if I sound pushy and I wanna acknowledge that I do get that this idea might take more involvement than you ever intended for this instance. Thank you for your response
