@Hypx I never understood how the BEV fanatics hate on Toyota for making a vehicle and completely ignore that Hyundai does. Hyundai makes great BEV’s but their flagship technology is hydrogen fuel cells.

True Zero's Port of Oakland HD/LD hydrogen refueling station opens today May 2, 2024. This station can refuel 200 Class 8 trucks per day. It stores 4,000kg of LH2 onsite. Hyundai will operate 30 Xcient Class 8 trucks over six years and is a partner in opening this station. Each big rig can haul freight 450 miles between each refueling. Deepwater Horizon was a huge environmental disaster that killed 11 people and cost BP more than $65 billion — but if that oil had been captured, sold, and used, it would be worse for the environment, killed more people, and BP would have made money.

The routine use of fossil fuels should be treated as a disaster.

@davidho fossil fuels provide approx 80% of the world’s primary energy as well as an input for fertilizer to grow food. If you could snap your fingers and make fossil fuels go away instantly, billions of people would die. Your rhetoric is not helpful. It’s radical. Many people want to eliminate fossil fuels. Acting like you’re on high moral ground and essentially accusing others of murder is ludicrous. Find real solutions. Spewing hate does not help.

@Hypx tons of projects ramping in Cally now. RMP just added 4 new locations to the map yesterday. One new blue h2 facility in San Joaquin Valley area (btwn LA and San Fran) called Elk Hills (also Kern county) will make and liquify 65tons per day with little to no CO2. This is >2x bigger than Air Liquide Las Vegas. There are multiple LD/HD mixed purpose H2 refueling locations planned for Class 8 trucks there. Will allow easy zero emission commerce btwn Cally’s two major cities.

@arstechnica Ars-troll-ica. Come on Ars. Hydrogen will play, is playing, a major role in the energy transition. If you ever hope to fast charge your BEV with green energy, it will come from H2. Right now BEVs are powered by fossil fuels. Through raw materials, through manufacturing, and also charging. BEVs are dependent on fossil fuels at every stage. Only H2 can set BEVs free from fossil fuels.

@Hypx Great share. You dont find this on Threads. You know RMP repps Detroit and this is news to me. Thanks for the share. I cant believe our local papers dont cover this and I have to read it in Forbes. Looking forward to learning more. This is big. If GM can build a series production truck, then they can build a million if there’s infra. This is timed w/ Honda announcing CRV H2 being built in Marysville OH. Stacks come from JV in Brownstone which must be ramping production.
