Take Back the Web ( pauloroger.dev )

Maybe you are already a Firefox user, we are part of a minority on the web today, and think that this text is not for you. You’re probably right, but I’d like to make a few points here and ask for your help in taking the web back before it’s too late. And if you don’t use Firefox, you’ve been using some version of...

Looking for a plugin/addon/theme/config recommendation for a friend who is migrating from Chrome and prefers the tab UI from there, specifically when there are way too many tabs open.

Specifically, when you open a reasonable number of tabs in any browser, the tabs look like this. However, as my friend has just imported all of his tabs and bookmarks over from Chrome to Firefox, he has an immense number of tabs open right now; in Chrome, he can see all the tabs at once with its UI. On Firefox, however, it keeps...

Can I get firefox to act as two separate browsers?

Say I have a window of mostly music that I want to open with shortcut a, and a window of work stuff that I want to open with shortcut b. Is there anything I can do to get firefox shortcuts to remember the windows separately? I don't want to use chrome or a different browser as the second window, but that would work for...

I'm looking for an Add-on Manager. I have way too many addons. I enable many of them for development, disable them afterwards. I can't search Installed Addons. What do? ( media.kbin.social )

I am in a bit of a pickle. I'm a developer, and I also use some crypto social media, and I also like downloading media sometimes, I do a lot of stuff. I modify CSS, I script & hack the web, yadda yadda. Basically what this means is I ended up with like 50 addons I juggle-enable-disable all the time. This is extremely frustrating...

Firefox for Android should have an open ecosystem of extensions by the end of the year. ( blog.mozilla.org )

In the coming months Mozilla will launch support for an open ecosystem of extensions on Firefox for Android on addons.mozilla.org (AMO). We’ll announce a definite launch date in early September, but it’s safe to expect a roll-out before the year’s end.

Is there a way to create a temporary container that will disappear as soon as I close the tab? ( kbin.social )

I know there are addons, but would be nice to have something native built in instead of having to trust an addon. Current method without addons that I know of is creating a container then deleting it, but that's not as convenient and pretty cumbersome....

How to make Firefox trust a self-signed certificate?

I'm a web developer working on an app running in Docker on my MacBook. Chrome, Edge and Safari trust the self-signed certificate that has been imported into the Mac's root certificate store and have no security issues, but when I try and access the web app, I'm hit with "Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead" and the error code...
