@GottaLaff Fani Willis has been a little bit of a disappointment. This appeal is BS, but she opened herself up to it through bad decisions. There was no good reason to put her boyfriend on the case when she should have known everything had to be done perfectly. She always struck me as too smart to have made a mistake like this. This is an important case and I’m worried it’s going off the rails now.
@GottaLaff It would be wrong for her to lose her job just because she tried to prosecute a criminal who had clout. Still, the case is important enough to the nation that that’s how it needs to be if it would move the case forward. She has to be kicking herself right now. How could she have not seen this coming?

Recall: Judge McAfee determined that all proceedings in the lower court would not be put on pause while Trump and others litigate appeal. He still plans to deal with pre-trial matters. But the appellants could seek a stay from the appeals court.

I'm sorry to say that after yesterday's news from Florida I knew he'd get away with everything.
He's going to.
And people literally laugh in my face when I say this is all Putin pulling the strings, but her we are, all those cases are falling like dominos and the judge on the current case in NY doesn't even have the balls to enforce his own ruling.
Trump will NEVER see a single day in prison, he won't pay a single penny of what he owes, he won't face any consequences for his actions and while I plan to vote for Biden in November, seeing the way things are going and that Putin is totally in charge, he's going to win because NOT A SINGLE ONE OF OUR LEADERS HAS THE BALLS TO STAND UP TO PUTIN.
So I'll stay here until election night but once our democracy is officially down the shitter, I'm deleting all my social media accounts, apps, email addresses that can be associated with past accounts and giving up all my mobile devices.
Because once trump is back in power, he'll go after us all.

Infuriating perversion of the judicial process.
DA WIllis could conceivably sidestep this line of BS and moot the entire question by delegating official responsibility for the case to an assistant, and then supporting the assistant as needed. It's not as though this were a one-person show, after all.
That's the sort of resiliency the staff army was invented to provide.

All of these damn trials started way too fucking late and I'm going to blame Garland for the federal cases dragging on too long. The stolen documents case and the insurrection case should have been settled way before the 2024 election and they're probably not even going to get going this year - or at all.

They aren't agreeing to disqualify Willis, they are just agreeing to hear an appeal. Seems pretty standard legal process to me?
Let me be clear that I am in no way a Trump defender. I think he clearly broke the law to try to overthrow democracy and should be convicted for his many crimes.
But of everything that has ever happened wrt Trump, this is the least WTF thing I can think of.
He never gives up. He'll approach the appeals court with the most inane of appeals. It's a "wear them down until they give up" philosophy he has always used. It's a Roy Cohn tactic!
