Wow, #EXO's & EXO-M's Lay (张艺兴) is very protective of his girl group in #ShowItAll. I also love the concept of the show, inviting big names from other countries, to help hone their local talents.
(You can watch “Show It All” legally via YouTube.)
"Light of My Life" - Chen, from his first Japanese solo album. The slow build of this is delicious, and the music video is quite apt. #jpop#kpop#CHEN#EXO
This week's #KpopMonday theme is #Atlantis: Give us all your favorite nautical themed songs and MVs. Yachts, mermaids, boys in sailor suits, and everything in between.
Here's the first single off of this year's #EXO album "Exist". The lyrics talk a lot about sinking, the waves, and the ocean.
It is a very quiet, sad or melancholy song. Good for a cold day as the seasons turn. #kpop
In today's YouTube video, #EXO's #Chanyeol learns how to "tuft," and talks about inspirations behind his recent single "Good Enough," including watching the #kdrama#MyLiberationNotes. At 4:30, he starts talking about the inspiration, and specifically mentions the show at 4:50.
I overheard two women discussing #EXO while waiting in the merch line for this #TheRose concert, and I think I live here now.
Also, I fully intended on NOT increasing my inventory of hoodies, but the dusky dark rose red one is MY COLOR and has the coolest back picture, and the t-shirts aren't interesting enough, so ...
The absolutely iconic and groundbreaking song by #EXO, with my fave D.O. blowing us away with the opening wail, showcasing the lungs on that kid. (Fast-forward to 1:26 to skip the boring non-music intro.)
SUHO is in Milan, getting photographed next to Lee Min-ho, as the new face of Hugo BOSS. This is the week after he was in NYC. #SUHO is driven and works hard for clout. This summer he starred in a musical, filmed multiple kdramas, and also promoted EXO's new album.
D.O. was on a reality show with his friends this summer working (and playing) on a farm. Kyungsoo prefers to shuffle around in sweatpants and comfy shoes cooking with his friends. This winter, he was on a different reality show with friends, in comfy clothes, cooking with them. #DohKyungsoo
The top one is my favorite: Jin Jeong from last year's #BadProsecutor#kdrama. The left is from #NoMath_SchoolTrip where he got to see penguins (the penguin is his animal symbol). The right is from his role as Lee Yul in #100DaysMyPrince kdrama.
The theme for #JukeboxFridayNight this week is #GettingDirty - "Sins, guilty pleasures, temptations, and also more literal dirt."
Although their most recent single "Cream Soda" is definitely not about a carbonated beverage, I want to give another innuendo-fueled #EXO#kpop song for today:
Here's a final behind-the-scenes video from the #kdrama#BehindYourTouch featuring #EXO's #SUHO. It is full of spoilers for the last two episodes, so keep that in mind.
At the 4:41 mark, I think it is super cool to see the camera rigging on someone's helmet to capture someone's facial expressions during a crucial scene.
I think if I were closer to a hyper-focus mental state, I'd probably take all of the recent TV performances #EXO has done for Cream Soda this month and see how much of the camera work is similar across them. Does their management direct/coordinate tv performance camera work, with strict timing cues for when to be a group shot versus individual shot (and which individual), or is it more like live sports, with experienced experts making decisions on the fly?
The team effort behind getting those 7 guys dressed and on stage is probably monumental.
Watch "EXO(엑소) - Cream Soda @인기가요 inkigayo 20230716" on YouTube #kpop
Oh ho! I found a recent video where they show the filming of #EXO performing "Cream Soda" on Inkigayo. The official video released that includes both group shots and individual shots is actually a compilation of TWO run-throughs of the song.
Bonus: Sehun trying to warm up before the first run-through, and both Chanyeol and Xiumin eager to get their coats off after the second.
