#nowspinning Bert Jansch - Rosemary Lane (1971). Maybe the most Nick Drake-like album Jansch did, if only for the hushed tone and pastoral feel. It’s a record of just warm poised #fingerstyle guitar and vocals. Great version of “reynardine” the traditional tune. @vinylrecords
#nowspinning William Eaton - s/t / 1978 (Reissued 2020 by Morning Trip records). A blissful and uplifting record of instrumental guitar. The liner notes say some of it was recorded on a 26 string guitar Eaton built called an “Elesium Harmoniom”. It’s a beautiful set of spontaneous performances recorded “in a garden”. With everything going on, good to have some peaceful vibes coming through the speakers.
The 2015 EMI/Parlophone #Bowie remasters really do sound great. There are so many variations of this record (I have several including a UK first and a MOFI) but this one gets pulled out the most even though it’s from a digital source, which I would typically condemn on principle. Very solid debut from Ill Peach, out on Hardly Art. This is Not An Exit in Transparent Orange! Came with a little zine, really nice touch. I love getting releases early, this one drops on Friday. Currently Spinning: Slowdive - Everything Is Alive (Crystal Clear). This one released back in early September of this year but I grouped some pre-orders together (bad idea) so it just arrived just a few days ago. In any case I'm starting my morning off with this release (and probably many more mornings to come). Solid album all around even outside of the singles IMO.
