According to the UN, the number of Palestinian #refugees, who were expelled from Palestinian villages and cities during the #Nakba to Gaza, is approximately 1.4 million out of a total population of over 2 million, constituting two-thirds of the population in the besieged enclave, which has been suffering a new Israeli Nakba for the past seven months.

Thousands of truck/trailers are stuck on the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing since last week because of the Israeli occupation of the border. Most of the fresh products in the trucks have gone bad and there is a risk of other items to be destroyed if #Israel does not allow the help to get in.
Over 1 million Palestinians, most of the women, elderly and children are stuck in western #Rafah without access to food, medicine and water. The situation is getting worse every day as Israel keep bombing them and pushing forward with 100s of tanks and armored vehicles.

Under a 2007 agreement between Egypt and Israel, Egypt controls the crossing but imports through the Rafah crossing require Israeli approval.
I recorded these short interviews in Rafah on December 21st, 2023 with the people that made it across that day.
In May 2024, while Egypt and Qatar mediated a truce proposal between Hamas and Israel, the region stood at a crossroad. As hopes flickered for a potential peace breakthrough, Hamas signaled its acceptance of the truce offer. Yet, Israel's refusal shattered these fragile hopes, opting instead for a ground invasion at the Rafah border crossing which today is home to more than 600,000 children.
The Palestinians being pulled from the rubble in Rafah are being pulled piece by piece. The bombing is so intense that it's crushing people into pieces.
It is worth noticing that Israel instructed people to seek refuge in Rafah, designating it as a 'safe zone'.
By December 2023, a significant number of individuals were already fleeing via the Rafah border crossing, with some successfully escaping by paying a coordinator.

One of the key goals of Israel is to prevent the world witnessing what they are doing in Gaza. From murder of reporters, preventing foreign press to enter and destroying the means of communication, they are setup up the stage for full blown assault on #Rafah and mass murder of innocent palestinians who have no where to go.
"Israel is fighting a just and necessary war," asserted U.S. Senator from Arkansas, #TomCotton, in support of Israel continuing its genocide in Gaza.
The Senator also suggested that "the House has no choice but to impeach #Biden over delayed Israel aid." This highlights the extent to which U.S. senators supported by #AIPAC funding are willing to go to ensure Israel remains armed with U.S. weaponry.
The Government Media Office in Gaza warns of a deep humanitarian disaster emerging from the Israeli occupation's invasion of eastern Rafah governorate and its occupation of the Rafah and "Kerem Shalom" crossings. This includes the blockade of medical and food aid, as well as the prevention of travel for thousands of patients and wounded individuals, indicating a genuine crisis in Gaza.
Over the past two days, the Israeli occupation has prevented the entry of more than 400 trucks carrying aid, food, medical supplies, and equipment. They also prohibited 159 cancer patients and wounded individuals from traveling outside Gaza for treatment.
Following the #Biden administration's announcement that the US will withhold large bombs and artillery shells if Israel moves into a full invasion of Rafah, #Netanyahu asserted Israel's readiness to proceed independently into the crowded city.
“If we have to stand alone, we will stand alone. If we need to, we will fight with our fingernails,” declared Netanyahu in a video statement.
Israel has reached out to US Senators to condemn Biden's decision and demand the immediate reinstatement of #weapons to Israel, with some senators even calling for Biden's impeachment over this move.
