According to the UN, the number of Palestinian #refugees, who were expelled from Palestinian villages and cities during the #Nakba to Gaza, is approximately 1.4 million out of a total population of over 2 million, constituting two-thirds of the population in the besieged enclave, which has been suffering a new Israeli Nakba for the past seven months.
Rajha Abu Khalifa is one of many refugees in Gaza, who are older than Israel.
Hello all! I read a piece indicating there's an audience for political rants, and I do have a distinct take on that stuff. In my first post, I talk about the way the spook agencies shape the narrative by controlling the entertainment. Richard Pryor and Bill Hicks got induced cancer, Eddie Murphy had to stop being smart in public, and Bill Cosby got a voice because he validated white racism.
Again, about 800,000 people, half of #Rafah's population, are forced to flee due to the Israeli invasion.
The claim that civilians in Gaza can go to safe areas is false
Humanitarian organizations no longer have resources such as food and essential items to prepare
The time has come to agree on a ceasefire and any further escalation will cause more suffering to civilians.

These collections chronicle the progressive history of the Bay Area, the United States, and international movements for liberation and social justice.”
In the University of California system, the union representing 48,000 grad students and other academic workers is about to strike in protest of repression of campus protests. It’s a watershed for labor and for the Palestine solidarity movement. #politics https://jacobin.com/2024/05/uc-uaw-palestine-strike-free-speech/
“Because a growing share of Americans hold highly unfavourable views of big corporations, we argue that the belief that large firms win from trade will provoke hostility towards trade and globalization. To test this theory, we show experimentally that informing people that large corporations benefit from trade makes them markedly more hostile towards trade compared to a treatment emphasizing that firms in exporting industries benefit.”

Was Taxpayer Money Used to Fly MAGA lemmings to NY?
Sen. J.D. Vance’s explanation for visiting Donald Trump during the presumptive GOP presidential nominee’s hush money trial in New York drew mockery on social media.
More callousness compounding the inequities of the housing crisis...
As other have remarked Thurrock's communication(s) with Heidi Dodson are remarkable for their inhumanity, but it sort of follows from declarations that the vulnerable & poor are making 'lifestyle choices'.
Cruelty & callousness come down from our politicians who are forever 'punching down'.
Sometimes I wonder how we have come to this, then I look at grinning Tories & I know all too well!
U.S. President Joe Biden and former U.S. President and presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump have agreed to debate in two televised broadcasts. These events are usually organized by the Commission on Presidential Debates, but the Biden and Trump teams directly negotiated the terms of the showdowns. The Biden campaign says the Commission “is out of step with changes in the structure of our elections and the interests of voters.” But there’s some strategic thinking involved in the move, too. Yahoo! News has more about the changes and why they’re important.
"Such beauty! This is what happens to whoever brings food to Hamas" Judeonazi settlers in West Bank blocked two Palestinian trucks, claiming they carry Gaza aid, threw rocks at the drivers, wounding one of them, and destroyed goods.
