Seria "Harry Potter", "Zmierzch" i "Igrzyska Śmierci" - to tytuły, które przychodzą mi na myśl, gdy myślę o książkach, które stały się popularne wśród młodzieży i stanowiły dobry materiał do ekranizacji, osiągając tym samym światowy sukces jako marka. Cykl HP to dla mnie absolutna legenda i ponadczasowa seria (książki, choć filmy też niezłe). "Zmierzchu" czytać i oglądać nie zamierzam. Natomiast chciałem sprawdzić "Hunger Games" i... no tak średnio bym powiedział. Ekranizacji nie widziałem, ale wierzę, że może być dobra. Książka - nie bardzo. To esencja młodzieżówki, ale w tej raczej złej formie. Choć widzę po ocenach na LC, że jestem w tym odosobniony.
Urocza książka, typowa młodzieżówka "guilty pleasure", którą czyta się z bananem na twarzy i wierzy, że wszystko skończy się dobrze. W tym ta lektura jest znakomita - nie oczekujcie po niej ambicji, niespodziewanych zwrotów akcji itd. Raczej dajcie się ponieść urokliwości historii i efektowi "aaaaaaaw". Mnie się podobało, ale jestem dużym dzieckiem.

Stanowski już dzisiaj zrobił swoją orkę, wiec przyszła pora na mnie, choć tak naprawdę ta ksią... to opowiadanie nie zasługuje na orkę. Jest po prostu rozczarowaniem ze względu na kierunek fabularny oraz wydanie. Stylistycznie i klimatycznie trzyma poziom pierwszej części i mam nadzieję, że pełnoprawny drugi tom (jeśli powstanie) będzie bliższy pierwszemu niż... tego.

Dużo osób chwaliło tę książkę, ma wysokie oceny, a ja jestem nią rozczarowany. Akcja tutaj pędzi jak szalona, ale po drodze brakuje szczegółów, które trochę porządkowałyby tę opowieść - jest dużo chaosu, dezorientacji, rzucania bohaterami w różne miejsca, choć nie zaprzeczam, że ma to swój urok. Ale ja byłem jednocześnie znudzony i rozkojarzony tą powieścią.
Może po prostu nie była dla mnie. Bo tak - to świetny prezent dla nastolatki lubiącej czytać fantastykę.
Today finished listening to "The Wicked Bargain" by Gabe Cole Novoa and read by Vico Ortiz. It's a good #YoungAdult adventure, a historical #fantasy with #pirates and magic in the Caribbean. The main character is transmasc, and the details around that were skillfully folded into the story (while being just one part of a multi-faceted protagonist). Ortiz's reading was nicely varied. I also enjoyed how Spanish is incorporated into conversations.

I recently finished "All hell breaks loose" the prequel book about Skullduggery Pleasant. A Y/A supernatural mystery series of books.
It started a bit slow but towards the end I started to it's potential. I always prefer a series that gets better and better the deeper I get into it.
I’m #currentlyreading Fallout, the third book in the Crank series by Ellen Hopkins. This book is from the perspectives of three of Kristina Snow’s five children, Hunter, Autumn, and Summer. They all have different fathers and live with different guardians.
I’m also reading A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson. Pippa (Pip) Fitza-Amobi is working on her senior capstone project. Her topic of choice? To research the roles of print, televised, and social media in police investigations using the case of Andie Bell as a case study.

The trilogy of Ferryman is now complete : Ferryman, Trespassers and Outcasts. I only read the first book for the moment, but I really loved this ya novel. The characters are very deep and touching and their backstories are explored along the way. Claire Mc Fall’s novel is extremely poetic and introspective. It is a spiritual and paranormal romance, a very unique mixture that kept me hooked.
