If you have a Tesla and you're worried about this it's probably worth enabling pin to drive. Not sure about all the other brands that are impacted but hopefully they have a similar feature.
You don't own the rights to the voice of every actor who arguably sounds kinda like you. OpenAI had an idea of a type of voice they wanted, when Scarlett said no they hired a voice actor. I mean, what? There are many valid criticisms of Sam and OpenAI don't get me wrong but this is one I just can't get on board with.
I feel like I'm missing something though because so many people are commenting on this as though Scarlett had her own voice used without her consent or something.
Ok see this I get. Yes I agree if they did this, it's totally unethical and presumably illegal as well and they should face consequences for that. They claim to have hired voice actors for all their voices though, assuming that's true (maybe a big assumption) I don't think there's an issue but if it's more like what you suggested then it's a big violation.
Yeah I'm with you. Given Tesla's insistence on having only the centre screen for the driver in the Model 3 I can't see removing any mirrors as feasible.
If this is some testing they're doing for a driverless model though it makes more sense.
Fuck Boeing for many reasons but I don't expect them to control the weather ahead of their flights. I don't get any indication from the article that there was any incompetence involved unless I missed something.
How can a celebrity have any rights over the voice of another voice actor just because they have a similar sounding voice to you? I get it's AI so there's some uncanny valley / ethical implications but that idea seems really weird to me.
EDIT: I'm genuinely interested in this and would love to hear counter arguments or gaps in my thinking here. At face value it seems like anyone who has a voice that sounds similar to Scarlett is barred from working as a voice actor if we accept this principle.
If they trained on recordings of Scarlett then that's wrong imo, but hiring voice actors and one of them sounds like her is different. It comes back to my original point, if I listen to some media with someone that sounds like me do I have the right to get the company to take down the audio? I feel like I'm missing something but that's the point I'm getting stuck on.
Russia has launched an offensive into the Kharkiv region, and it has created a lot of alarmist news reports. Thanks for posting this, I hadn't watched this creator before but the video was really interesting. It was a good point he raised that in no military strategy book will you find advice to spread your forces all along the line and push a little bit everywhere like the Russians seem to be doing now.
I wonder if it's just the political aspirations of the individual leaders playing out as was suggested in the video. It'd be great news for Ukraine if that was the case for sure.
Yeah exactly...what. It's like asking if your families insurance didn't pay for the damage to the next door neighbours house, what is it for? Hopefully Ukraine will become a member of NATO soon and it will be a different story but right now Ukraine is not under the NATO umbrella.

Fair enough. I don't think I'd really use it that much either but Steam has pretty great cloud saves and such so I might play a couple of rounds of Balatro or something while I waited and pick it up again back home on the couch on the Steam deck.

Hey I'm with you, my comment was supposed to highlight as much. Helping people conquer land is even one of the more palatable examples you can choose from when it comes to morally abhorrent things in the bible.
Sure but if Russia is willing to open the nuclear Pandora's box because they can't make progress in their war in Ukraine, what do you think they will do if they are about to lose a war to NATO in an afternoon? I don't see use of nukes here ending a different way even in the case where NATO initially responds with conventional arms only. Who knows though, I'm pretty damn far from an expert here but hopefully we never have to find out.
