Getting movies in Pan & Scan is annoyingly hard. I'm just gonna have to buy a bunch of VHS tapes and digitize them, I guess.

Maybe some occasional early "full-screen" DVDs on ebay. Those'd be easier to rip.

@foone The first Garfield live-action movie has a Pan and Scan option when you start it up on at least one DVD release, I know for a fact since that's the one I have.

@nixCraft Time for an open, federated alternative. Fortunately everything on there is under CC BY-SA, so someone could archive all the questions, comments, and answers and rehost it on an archive website that could interact with a federated alternative, or rather, that the federated alternative could interact with so new answers could show up.

@thunderbird I don't know if there even is any problem or if it's just user error because multiple of my own tests on the computer just work fine. Thanks for trying to help, though.

I just tried to order a pizza and it wanted my credit card expiration date, so I entered "05/28" (example date only)

it then came back with a "your card is expired" error. Uh, no it isn't? that date is still several years in the future.

did... did this site just take my date and assume I mean May of the year AD 28? That is indeed very expired! that's what I get for trying to use Jesus's card.

@foone This is why I'm always grateful when websites say what format to type the year in. Preferably with something that shows the example outside the textbox.

I wonder how hard it is to make my on logitech wireless keyboard.

like, not a keyboard that works wirelessly, that's easy and I've done it already (the cubekeyboard).
but one that works with logitech receivers.

maybe I could buy their cheapest wireless keyboard, destroy it, and then wire my own hardware up to the keyboard matrix?

@foone I've thought about this before with regards to the idea of making a mechanical version of the Logitech Wave/K350 keyboard since I like its layout and that mine is wireless but not its membrane-ness.

@kde Is that asterisk supposed to be to specify that trans women are women to combat those who say they're not and it was left undefined due to forgetting? Because I can't think of any other legitimate reason.

@nina_kali_nina For a time, Edge was using Microsoft's own EdgeHTML engine, but then later they sadly scrapped it for Chromium. Epiphany, now more commonly called GNOME Web, uses WebKit, making it basically Safari on Linux but not really.

@fsfe Non-uninstallable bloatware being so common on Android is one reason why I miss Windows Phone. Sure it was proprietary, but at least it let you get rid of a pre-installed Facebook app and other junk, and even then apps were a lot more limited in what they were allowed to access, sometimes to the detriment of developers making apps that may genuinely need that access.
