So I just got back from Bali 🌴 ... and the first thing I see when I get home is my mom attempting to feed mommy cat using a spare floor tile we had in the storeroom :neocat_confused:

Context: I've been trying to find the perfect surface to feed the cats because they sometimes ignore food if they can't pick it up within a few licks. So I've been experimenting with different feeding surfaces.

My mom's logic was that since the cats like to pick up wet food and drop it on the floor before eating, why not serve food on a piece of tile instead?

As you can see, it didn't work... :neocat_facepalm:

Preventing personally identifiable information from leaking and adding buffer time between IRL location and post time location is a necessary skill for famous people who don't want to be followed.

Imagine getting the cheapest, secondhand car you could find with the sole purpose of leaving it at a free parking spot nearest to your destination MRT station i.e. your workplace.

Then you can commute daily to your nearby home MRT station (through various means i.e. your "primary" car, hitching a ride with someone at your home, feeder bus), take the MRT to your destination station i.e. workplace, then take that car on the short drive to/from your workplace.

Heck you could even share this car with your colleagues or whomever as like a personal bus, granted, they're on a similar schedule.

Dk if this is a big brain move, T20 move, or something else entirely.

got to help the world's most surprised chinese lady (when I started speaking in mandarin) try to find some merch for her son lol

he is into ichigo from darling in the franxx (not bad taste, imo!!) and his mom (mom of the year over here!!) was looking for some ichigo merch. I pointed her at a couple stores that, while not guaranteed, at least had more of a chance (the one we were at literally had a single piece of DITF merch that was, of course, of 02)

I hope she finds some for him!!!

My workflow for Anime Animal processing is:

• Anime watching: VLC (supports all damn formats)
• Format standardization: Handbrake (supports all damn formats)
• Video trimming: Adobe Premiere Pro (for precision)
• Video/Image Watermark + Thumbnail: Adobe After Effects (for batch processing automation)
• Animal Thumbnail: Adobe Photoshop (for blur and AI Remove tools)

I wonder if there's any good FOSS stuff to replace the Adobe Suite in there. I was trained in this stuff as a student, but paying for it without the Education discount's been quite a pain. :leafeonmoney:

Any good suggestions?

So I got one of these cat gates for the guest room. Smol meow is very curious, but hasn't managed to break in to jail yet. :neofox_confused:

It's about ~5'10" (~1.8m) so the cats can't jump it :blobfoxdab:

My mom needed a cat-free zone to rest when cat sitting. She used to close the door, but it got way too stuffy.

Canned cat grass regrowth plan success. New dried wheatgrass seeds are just barely small enough to be forced thru the small holes. And the canned environment is surprisingly good for germination.

My peace was disturbed by a desperate pleading MEOooow from across the house. I dashed out of my room to find smol meow sitting on the floor staring at the ceiling and meowing.

The intruder was a gecko crawling on the walls at ceiling height. My girls like hunting lizards and insects in the apartment.

Nope, sorry girl, I can't reach it Not gonna use a pole to get it down for you either. She's still meowing while I pet her and post this. :meowsad:

So I'm in Jeju, Special Self-Governing Province of Korea right now. It's in a similar relationship that Macau and Hong Kong have with China.

I was wondering where all the swarms of Mainland Chinese tourists were when I went around Europe / Japan these few years post-Covid lockdowns. Well, I found them. They're here. Busloads of tourists that follow tour guides waving a stick with the Chinese flag.

Not a fun experience when they arrive, but the shops gotta earn that money :leafeonmoney:

The Singapore (5000) and Kuala Lumpur (2500) locations seem really tiny. The Jakarta one looks like the only one with more than enough seats, but the traffic situation there was horrible the last time I visited.

Went to Hell and back recently, it was smelly. Hell Valley (Jigokudani) in Hokkaido is a hot spring town where you can walk down a wooden walkway to a suphuric geyser and up a hill to see more.
